SS Birthday Party

aug2010's picture

History repeats itself they say. Well last birthday party at a bowling alley with 20+ kids I decided to help my DH. BM told my DH that I needed to back off b/c I was trying to take away her motherhood. She fought with DH and DH's mother. Christmas, DH and BM fought. soooo what's going to happen this round? DH's family won't be attending b/c of how BM had ruined christmas, kept her son away from my wedding, and numerous fights amongst each other. DH still wants to go to this Bday party that BM is hosting even though DH's family is throwing SS a birthday party also.

I'd like your thoughts on this issue......

I was sitting here wondering why being a SM is so difficult...is it because being women we want control over our household..so we take over with his kids? we discipline, buy all the clothes, do the groceries, clean the house, cook, do laundry, make the doctor appointments, arrange all playdates..etc.....

I'm curious what you think because I'm starting to wonder if I should sit back and let dad raise his child and I will be the nice one that doesn't get involved and then I can be the wonderful SM....any thoughts on this would be appreciated....

Gift number one went back. :)

Well gift number one went back the day before and the rest are going back sunday because if the hour drive to toys r us to. (gotta go over there anyway) I actually feel good about and if ever asked. "Wheres my christmas gifts. Well you made a choice to not come see your father for the holidays so we made a choice to take your gifts back." Maybe a little mean but whatever.

Our world Just Turned Upside Down

Not the Evil Stepmom's picture

Sad Monday my husband's brother past away from a massive heart attack. He wasn't just my husband's brother but his best friend and almost like a father figure to him. He was only 52. He lived alone. He was never married and didn't have any children. It has become my husband's responsiblity to take care of everything because his parents passed away several years ago. He has another brother but he's kind of slow to put it niceley.

MY rocking chair!

Mich811's picture

I'm 8 months pregnant and as a gift to myself, I bought a really comfortable rocking chair. It helps with my back pain now, and I'm planning to use it for nursing when the baby arrives. It was expensive and a splurge for us, but I really wanted a nice chair for relaxing. I haven't been sleeping well and sitting in the chair seems to be one of the few ways I can rest right now.

SS's Wii

DoingItAgain's picture

Yeah, before DH and I were married, SS saved up enough money and dad allowed him to to buy himself a Wii. I guess as a single dad, you don't foresee the problems this would cause.

So, fast forward... we married and now we have Wii Fit FOR THE FAMILY, Net Flix streaming FOR THE FAMILY and my BS has also gotten various Wii games as well.

That shut him up

Ok, my H and I have been tossing around divorcing, although we haven't said the D word, recently. It all started when I told him I wanted us to have a schedule of when we would have SD12. (1. so we don't have to be on hold for when BM wants to dump the kid on us.) 2. So we can make plans for things 3. So we can have a say on when she will come and are not at the mercy of BM. ) Well, apparently that was way too much to ask and it has just caused a real stink. How dare I? So anyway, we have been going back and forth about whether we wanted to work it out.

I hate waiting...

Came in from work this morning & checked the messages... seems we got a call from a children's crisis counselor yesterday & missed the call. Given that yesterday was day one of the new "uniform look" I have a feeling I will be losing my mind shortly. Keep DH & I in your prayers and thoughts that we keep our cool. I'll keep you updated.

FIL the Drill Seargant

Just a quick note as I am at work (not supposed to be on social networking sites and I am sure our IT dept will consider this one!)

FIL woke the skids (and DH and I) up this morning at 4am with the loudest whistle I have ever heard in my LIFE!! By 4:05 the skids were in the backyard doing... PUSHUPS!!! Except Skid#4, his arm is in a cast so he was doing crunches. They got an hour of excercise, including running around the block with FIL following them in a car!!
