Let the crying begin

SD, age 19, has court tomorrow for assault and battery and reckless driving.  She has known about this court date for MONTHS.  She calls DH a couple of days ago crying because she doesn't want to go to jail.

SD says that she threaten a girl and drove away.  The girl has it on video. She says that she drove away really fast so she is being charged with reckless driving as well.  I am almost certain there is more to this story.

This isn't SD's first time to threaten someone.  She has been to court when she was under 18 a few times.  She also threaten someone when she was 18 and was kicked out of college.  I don't think the girl had enough evidence so the case was basically dropped. She has never ever been punished.  She has been given slaps on the hand and told not to do it again.

DH spends about 45 minutes trying to calm her down. I just wanted to remind DH  that SD has already told him that she is a grown a$$ woman and to tell her to put on her big girl britches.  Of course, he babies her and tells her that she isn't going to jail and that the girl should be punished because she isn't doing the right thing by dropping the charges...blah blah blah.

I doubt she will be punished this time as well.  She "may" have to pay a fine.  I am sure she will call gloating to DH tomorrow.

Unbelievable. Your SD sounds like a loose cannon and it's likely caused by your DH always protecting and babying her. Hopefully she faces some real consequences for her actions this time. It always warms my heart to see these out-of-control kids get held account and knocked down a few pegs by life when Daddy can no longer save them.

"DADDEEE....SAVE ME" crap and it is so annoying.  DADDEEE is always willing to play the save me game with her. It is so sickening.

I do hope that she does get consequences.  I would love to go to court to see what really happened but I don't want to waste a day off work.

The times abusers and criminals actually get caught represents a small percentage of their offenses.  If she gets away with this, she can and will do worse next time.

I hope that she does have some type of consequence.  She has been threatening people since she has been about 12 years old.  BM and DH would baby her when she would get caught.  I tried to tell DH that he was creating a monster but he didn't want to hear it.  She has been doing more and more each time.

I have been waiting for her to threaten the wrong person.  I have tried to tell DH that she could threaten the wrong person and they could beat the crap out of her or worse.  He just tunes a deaf ear.

Exactly, we saw how often Meth Mouth skated the system for worse things than "threatening" a person.  She walked so many times it made me realize the justice system is just as much a joke as the family court system.  Laws are there to protect these wastes of society and punish the people who actually obey them.

Is DH going to court to be her character witness and tell this to the court?

My ex SD was like this ... nothing was ever HER fault, you know?

She rear ended another car driving on the motorway, writing off her car and damaging the other car. She cried and wailed to Daddy that it wasn't her fault. Daddy bought her another car, patted her hand and said "there, there"...

When she failed her driving license assessment, again it wasn't her fault....it was the testing officer's, for being "intimidating"...

LOL.
