OT - Eff Off Friday

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Friday at LAST! This has been a week of every day mimicking an endless, sucky Monday. Plaaaaaaaaaaah!!!

Today's work schedule translates into Day From Hell, so let's get right to it...

Eff off to:

  • Maintenance not fixing the broken toilet paper dispenser. The cleaning crew keeps pushing the 'door' back up, but the latch is broken so the door FLINGS OPEN when you try to pull out a square of tissue. Women have complained about that friggin' door catching on their clothes, slamming onto their leg or hand and leaving bruises... FIX THE DAMN THING.

  • DH's work. We were supposed to go kayaking this weekend. He has to work OT now. POOPIE!!!!!!!!!

  • People who get p!ssy with me for deleting irrelevant comments on MY blog. Newsflash, effer. THAT'S WHY THE DELETE FEATURE EXISTS. You don't like it? Spew your shizzit on your own blog. Because I will delete that shizzit from mine Every.Single.Time.

  • Jerkwads who think they are the know-all, be-all of a system. NO, effer, you CANNOT do that. That option was changed 8 MONTHS ago when the system was upgraded., Go ahead. Try it. Oh, it no longer works that way? TOLD YA SO. Non-Pop.

  • Effers who gather in doorways or block hallways to have a personal conversation. Hello! Some of us would like to go the cafeteria/bathroom/meeting room/my damn cubicle. MOVE.

May your weekend be enjoyable and drama-free!
Aniki

F off to girls who cry rape because their feelings got hurt or they want something. It makes the ladies who are raped have to think twice about reporting.

There should be stiffer punishments for girls who do get caught lying. It is an awful thing to accuse someone of.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Chmmy, I agree with you 1000%! I HAVE been raped. Some POS falsely claiming rape is completely reprehensible. Not only does it negatively affect the life of their falsely accused victim; it can also affect that victim's spouse or children or job!

Rape is NOT a subject to be taken lightly. Eff off to anyone who was never raped to claim they "understand" my pain.

Ahh Aniki, it sounds like you have had a week. I am really not in Eff off mode today, so instead I will just say Happy Friday the 13th and it's a full moon. I fully intend to spend the evening watching ghost shows, eating popcorn, maybe drinking some wine (I'm trying dry September...blech!) and then go out and watch the moonrise.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Techinically, that full moon doesn't occur in my area until 12:33am... LOL!

Since DH doesn't get home untl midnight or so, maybe I'll pop open that bottle of tequila I've been saving and sip while I watch some "Are You Being Served" episodes...

Thank you for the ray of sunshine, advice! xo

Soooo... I was gonna vent a list (soda cans, honestly i don't remember most of them right this second)... BUT... Then I came back to my office and one of my coworkers had put a reign energy drink on my desk (literally one of my favs) and honeslty now I'm feeling pretty dang positive. :)  It's gonna be a good day!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

I have never heard of that brand. But I don't do energy drinks, so the only brand with which I'm familiar is Monster.

I forgot today was Friday the 13th. That makes it better already!

ProbablyAlreadyInsane's picture

Reign and Bang are my favorites... They're creatine, have BCAA Aminos, electrolytes, are sugar free, and calorie free,  PLUS have vitamin B6 and B12 :)  I don't drink many carbonated things, but these are great.  Plus this one is sour apple flavored!!!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

BANG?! Bahahahahahahahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

Doesn't sugar-free mean chemical substitute? Artificial sweetener tastes like over-chlorinated pool water to me. Ish. The energy stuff I've seen has so much vitamin B/B-12 in it, it's alarming.  Sad

ProbablyAlreadyInsane's picture

LMAO.

Typically it has some kind of substitute... This one has suclarose... Which is super sweet... lol...  It's better than aspertame, but still not fantastic, so I don't drink them super often (that and a low caffeine tolerance!)

Reign only has 50% of Vitamin B6 and B12 and Bang has 25% of them each.  They're actually supported by a large chunk of fitness professionals.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

They all taste icky to me. Stil,, I'd rather gulp down a big ol' mouthful of Lake Superior!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

I bolted awake after a work nightmare in which my feet and fingertips were bleeding. Gads.

ProbablyAlreadyInsane's picture

I had a nightmare earlier this week... *Shudder*  Makes for a rough day afterwards... Normally super exhausted because I didn't sleep as well...

Normally Friday the 13th is a good day for me but today started out crappy and shows no sign of improving.  DH and I are in a rough patch.  He has a hearing coming up with BM where she is trying to get alimony increased and the kids have suddenly stopped communicating with him.  Pretty much par for the course given their long history of siding with "poor mom who has been picked on all these years."  The amount of money that he has shoveled to her and them would choke a horse but they only want more.  He keeps doing the "everything will be fine" routine but he has been short-tempered and irritable to the point where I don't want to even be in the same room with him.  Only 3 more weeks to go but if he doesn't win it is going to be hell.  I feel a long "business trip" coming on!

Aniki-Moderator's picture

I also typically have a good Friday the 13th!

Sorry you're going through that rough patch, susanm. Hope things work out in your DH's favor. {{hugs}}

He has a hearing coming up with BM where she is trying to get alimony increased

Alimony increased? On what grounds? These women, I swear. Support your own damn self.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Right??

susanm's picture

Because child support has ended and she wants it.  Do they need reasons other than that?  Of course her attorney is claiming that she needs it to support herself.  That conveniently leaves out the fact that my DH paid for her to get a Master's Degree that she is not using to actually work and is living with her boyfriend who pays for everything.  And that their agreement specifically eliminates spousal support so her financial issues are not his problem.  So he is likely to win but we still have to deal with this sh*t and it is taking a toll.

It never seems to end in stephell.

Ermagawd, Eff Off to people who continually BUTCHER someone's name. Two examples:

  1. Penelope (at a different office) has a last name you do not know how to pronounce. No one here knows how to pronounce her last name, either, and Penelope is not available to tell you. Instead of repeatedly saying "Penelopeeee.... For-de...For-di... For f*cksake", can't you say Penelope F??? Or even just 'Penelope'. Not like there's another Penelope with whom we could confuse her. You have now said "For-de...For-di... For f*cksake" SEVEN TIMES. Yes, I'm counting, you non-pop.

  2. Those who refuse to learn how to pronounce someone's FIRST name. People have been correcting you for 8 MONTHS now. The man's name is Ganesh, pronounced guh-NESH; not guh-NAAASH. He is not pasty filling. It is not that bloody difficult.

Is it tequila-thirty yet? Sigh...

thinkthrice's picture

who pronounce "hyperbole"  "HYPER-BOWL-Y?"

I've said it a thousand times NO!!!

Blum 3

Aniki-Moderator's picture

They actually pronounce 'hyperbole' correctly! But let's now talk about 'centrifugal' (center-frugal)...

Example: If someone's name is John, why would you persist in calling him Joan? FFS, you've heard these names (words) so many times, you're probably saying them in your sleep. INCORRECTLY.

thinkthrice's picture

would rant on about this.  He said centrifugal is a MACHINE aka a centrifuge.  He would pound the table and say "it's centripetal, people!"

susanm's picture

While we are on butchering words, can we mention "very unique?"  Something can be unique.  It can not, however, be VERY unique.  You bleeding moron!  It makes me want to throttle the person.

A restaurant called "The La Trattoria". "La" is the Italian word for "the", so the restaurant is actually "The THE Tavern". WTH.

strugglingSM's picture

I have a name that is not that uncommon that people should stumble on it, but is apparently uncommon enough that it is too difficult for people to say. I have colleagues who call me the wrong name all the time. Since this has happened my entire life, I answer to several other names that are similar enough to my own that people commonly use them when referring to me.

EFFF off to GPS signal splitting!  Ok yeah your internal gps chip is reading lat and long HOWEVER trying to get 2 other GPS dependent applications to glom on and get the signal split using virtual com ports SUCKS!  And yes I'm using gpsSplitter aka Franson.  Works great WHEN you can get an EXTERNAL gps device that DOESN'T have a KNOCKOFF chip to register in the com ports.

\RANT OFF

F off to whoever thought the ice machine in the staff lounge was a cooler for their bottle of water. What?!? Gross!

Eff of to my attention-seeking MIL. Every conversation we have has to always come back to her or be about how people aren't paying enough attention to her. She recently asked about my parents and when I told her my father had been in the hospital, she immediately started talking about how she had health problems, too. Then complained that my parents haven't "come out to visit us" (note the "us" from MIL) in a while. I wanted to say, "you mean they haven't come out to visit me...their daughter..."

Eff of to my colleagues who would rather spend hours complaining than actually doing work. Are we trying to do things differently, thus requiring more work while we transition? Yes, we are. Does that mean we should sit in our feelings about how unfair this is forever and that should prevent us from actually implementing these changes? No, it should not. We are the senior leaders of the organization, we should lead by example and do what we need to do, instead of whining about it.

Aniki-Moderator's picture

Oh, ish. I know people like your MIL, Have to make it all about "MEEEEEEEE" instead of having any consideration or caring for the person who is actually sick or wounded.
