Update on MIL and BM drama!! LOL

tankh21's picture

So....here's the update in the MIL and BM drama.  MIL started her BS about how I should love the skids unconditionally and that I should care if they like me or not.  I just sat there and ignored her until OSS decided to take my food without asking and I told him that he needed to ask me first next time.  Then all of the sudden MIL's BF butted in and told me that telling OSS that was uncalled for.  I told him that no actually it is necessary because it was not polite to take other's people's food without asking them.  Then I was attacked by both MIL and her BF saying that I was too hard on the skids.  LOL I just said ok whatever you say.  I am not going to argue with two people who aren't SP's and I really don't care what they think.  MIL also brought up the fact that I should cut  BM some slack.  I thought that was really hilarious.  She claims that they don't have a very close relationship but come on!  She also was sending BM pictures while we were eating dinner at a restaurant.  Any way, I am going to keep on doing the same thing I have been doing and I could care less about DH's family and their opinions!!

I would have suggested to OSS that even though he can't have anything off your plate, Grandma's food looked even better and have at it.

If that ever happens again, and you stop skids from doing something to you, and she around, just redirect them to do it to her .

Shok

What do you mean the kid took your food? Do you mean right off your plate!?!?

And not only is that perfectly ok but there doesn't have to be any fore warning or 'may I' ?

I suppose you're doing well in not exploding an having the 'who cares what they think of me' attitude, but well , I would have snatched the food back from the kid and sent the plate to the trash can (no manners, no food, brat).

Too hard on the skids, my *ss.

I went to the bathroom and I came back and one of my pork ribs was gone.  I asked did someone take one of my ribs?  OSS said that he did.  I told him that he needed to ask me next time and then MIL's BF chimed in and said that it was ok.  I told him no it was not ok for OSS to take my food without asking.

You have more restraint than me. I would have been wrist deep in her mashed potatoes, licked my fingers, then walked out!  Kidding, kinda Wink

But of course, exSO’s mama was such an idiot, continuing to pander to BM after repeatedly getting cursed out and her son being abused. These MIL’s are idiots!

Love that you didn’t take the bait. Keep doing your thing girl!

Was your husband there for this meal?  If so, did he come to your defense when the BF made his idiotic statement?  I don't know how you deal with these people.

Well now, I wouldnt be putting up with that c**p. You are a better person than me, more patient. But, I'm at a time or stage of my life now where I just won't put up with that sort of thing. I have become a grumpy old git and I quite enjoy it.

If you ever go out to dinner with this group again, when the waitress comes you should just ask for an extra plate. Since they think it is acceptable to take food from your plate, you should be able to take what you want from theirs.

DH, his mom, and her BF all need a lesson in dining etiquette.
