Crazy pants

So Crazy (BM) took an office job in the Nursing home she works for. Before she was a CNA and made maybe $15/hr. She's actually held this job for about 2 years now, which is a huge improvement over her quitting every job within a week of being hired, or just not showing up period. She actually tried to quit this one too, but they begged her back. The other day my SO was talking about his friend who was buying a house with his gf- the friend was buying the house in his name only, even though he has been with his gf for 13yrs. GF has a daughter (SD18), and they just found out she is pregnant. SO's friend is terrified he will end up with a baby in the house they will have to take care of, and SD isn't even his kid. SO's friend also foots all the bills, and his GFexpects him to pay for vacations and expenses for her kids. The GF is some kind of nurse, and my SO was trying to explain her job and how much he made- he said it was above what Crazy does, but not quite an RN. SS13 heard this and piped up with "mom makes more than $13/hour, she took an office job so she makes probably $19/hr now". My SO and I looked at each other and just quietly said, interesting...

Crazy is planning on filing for 50/50 custody in August, which is fastly approaching. My SO pays child support, despite us having majority custody, but when this was all decided, Crazy only made $13/hr. My SO was afraid that would go up if she gets 50/50, but this may just change things a bit. He also pays her $400/month "maintenance", but that ends in August of next year. It would be pretty nice to have no child support, (or even if it stayed the same, it isn't that much), and no maintenance.

SD9 also told me the other night that Crazy and her twin sister (unfortunately there are 2 of them) may "buy a house together", that they would all live in. Crazy's sister has a 12yr old daughter, and Crazy and her sister often get in huge fights...they have proven they can't live together, because when Crazy didn't have a job or a place to go she would stay with her and it would only last a few weeks before she had to move out. But sure, buy a house together and have all 3 kids living under the same roof. What could go wrong? She is just. so. dumb. It boggles the mind.

Changing child support is so hard. When DH was assigned CS, BM claimed she worked 8 hours a week and made only a little cash from her gig. We knew this to be a lie because of previous tax returns from when they were married. The judge didn’t care. Now BM has her own business and we have four of our own kids. CS still doesn’t change. It’s lame. Only five more years!

Hopefully, this works out in his favor.

When I moved back to NYC from NC, my income skyrocketed.  Since my son's dad lived in NC, I never bothered to have the CS order switched to NYS.

Every 3 years NC mailed both of us income verification forms needed to complete the CS review.  Every 3 years, CS was decreased based on my salary.

Dad was also ordered to provide health insurance for our son.  But since I was eligible for free family health and dental through my union, he didn't have to waste money on that.
