Quick show of hands: Who else's BM goes into crazy over drive during the holidays?

princessmofo's picture

Just curious how many other StepTalkers go through this every year at this time? Our bm (twat waffle) always amps her level of crazy up to warp speed during the holidays.

Does anyone else experience this or is it just our albatross to bear?

Same here.. calls more often with all kinds of promises to SD's of things BM has "already purchased" but shows up with used clothing, happy meal toys, things that already belonged to SD's, and 4th of july parade candy. Not even kidding.

thank goodness nope. that would mean she'd have to acknowledge the hollidays and, like, pay actual money to buy her own kids gifts, god forbid....

Well, the EX in ours thinks that her child should receive "EVERYTHING!" on his list. It is Nauseating. THE WORST PART is - the kids birthday is a few weeks after. So one year, she asked if so-and-so (MY FAMILY) would get the kid a sport's jersey. I replied "I'll see." Well, they did comply, and the kid just said "Well, I already have one!" My family member gave me a dirty look. I felt embarrassed - she said "Well, she didn't tell me that he was going to get it, so I bought him one since he wanted it!" UGH!

Listening to all of these gag-inducing instances is a comfort in a way to me. Every.Damn.Year. Twat Waffle pulls something. Last year she hit dh with an unpaid medical bill to the tune of $600 three weeks before Christmas! :jawdrop: Of course I smelled bullshit and told him to call the provider to which they told him: 1) it had not been processed through insurance yet 2) it would be substantially less once processed and 3) they would set him up with a payment plan. And the provider told him NOT to pay Twat Waffle directly under any circumstances, remit payment to the hospital.

Turns out Twat Waffle wanted the payment to her directly because she promised ss a new Xbox and was cash poor. So she wanted us to subsidize her Christmas.

I love your name for her!!! Yup, amazing how they want to provide all the "cool stuff" and leave all the important stuff to the other parent. WHO IS THE ADULT HERE??

YES BM starts up with her antics every holiday. Pulls out all the stops, cries a river, begs for money, throws a pity party for herself, points fingers, guilt trips the kids, etc.
