Someone Else Sees it too

I love my roommate.

Dh had to work last night so it was just me and Baby. When our roommate came in with her son we all just hung out in the kitchen all day. He was doing his homework and we were just talking our heads off about life.

When the conversation turned to SD I was surprised to see that I'm not the only one that thinks something is wrong with her. Threats to kill my unborn child to the side, she just doesn't react to things that I feel like a typical child would. For example, when she is in trouble she gets these half open/closed eyes and responds in a flat monotone voice. Then other times it's like she can't relate to the emotional state of people around her. If everyone is laughing, she can't participate. If she pushes someone she doesn't understand why they are upset. It's been a lot of "little" behaviors so I thought maybe I was just crazy, so when my roommate said something about it i knew at least I'm not the only one that notices it.

SD already is never around Baby unless I am there so I don't worry too much. Hopefully SD grows out of it. She has glimmers of hope every now and then. I will put the bug in DH ear that she really does need some kind of counseling at some point in her life.

you are playing with fire if you suggest to DH something is wrong with his princess....

I suggest you get the room mate or a friend to have that chat with him Wink

Autism never occurred to me. My sincere hope is that someone at her school notices something is off and recommends counseling. I think that is the only way she gets any help.
