OT- I'm super petty

justmakingthebest's picture

I posted a while back about having gastric sleeve surgery. Well, I am a little over 4 months out now and only 5lbs from my goal weight but I hit my goal clothing size!

A part of me is excited to walk into the court house and look like I do now! BM didn't like me before, she sure isn't going to like Skinny me who still has the great rack! LOL

Now if we can only get that court date... Our attorney requested on weeks ago and still nothing from the judge.

Congratulations! You should be so proud of yourself! I hope you get to see BM soon so you can see the look of pure envy on her face.

I feel the same way about our BM. Petty or not, I occasionally want her to be envious of us. I want her to see our life and die a little inside. I want her to know that after everything she has tried and done to us over the years, we are still succeeding and doing great. I want her to know that DH isn't the loser she continues to believe he is.

The best part of us buying our house was when her "best friend" reach out to tell us how jealous she was of it! How DH never provided for her like that... Blah, blah.

Well, no shit. He is just one man, I support our household equally so we can do much better! lol But I want her to think that DH just does it all for me!

My ex didn't recognize me after I lost 100ish pounds. We were married for 20 years, lots of weight changes for both of us in that time, and I had to introduce myself. One of the best days of my life.

I have had a friend reccomend that to me, as I am 30 lbs over weight. but I havent made it into the gym so Im going to give it a year before deciding the next move.

But I bet that feels super awesome!

I would not do this surgery for 30 lbs even though you can in mexico. It is no joke. I needed to lose 60 lbs total and I only qualified by 1lb and a sleep apnea diagnosis. I was the smallest patient my Dr. had done in years he said.

My friend who had it done said that the bypass is the dangerous one and the sleeve is much gentler.

I definintely need to do more research.

Great job on your healthy goals Biggrin

Clove, that surgery is something to be very careful with, as there can be many issues with digestion for years to come.  If you are looking at only 30lbs, I'd suggest the old school method instead.

Or even ask about some medications, I hear victoza or ozempic can work.  In fact I'm sitting on the prescription of it from my primary, my endo nixed it though as I was experiencing bad gallbladder attacks (just had surgery last week)- so it could have ended in disaster for me.

I've lost 25lbs since 2 years ago (about 10 this year)- I have 20 to go for my goal.  I do plan to start going to the gym as soon as I get the clear from surgeon.   I also plan to check with endo again about the Ozempic now that gallbladder is out, it's supposed to help my diabetes numbers and help with weight loss. My BMI is finally out of the 'obese' category and into the overweight....I just want to get into a medium size, continue losing and build lean muscle, get stronger, I'm super weak these days.

I am also about 30lbs over the weight I am confortable at and about 50lbs heavier than what the BMI chart thinks I should be for my height (I am very short). I went to a weight loss clinic and have been prescribed Phentermine aka Adipex. I have been on it for three separate occassions. The first time I lost 20lbs in one month. I gained it all back during Covid when the gyms shut down and I stopped taking it. The second time I was on it I lost 5lbs the first month and stopped taking it thinking my body had built up a resistance to it, which is common. Now I restarted (today) and I am hoping for the results somewhere in between. I would suggest it to you if you have no other health issues and can be monitored by a doctor. It has caused some people issues with their heart and mood. There are a lot of facebook groups you can join to learn about it.

Yeah, sadly that's the problem with quick weightloss or 'assisted', if you lose too quickly it's much easier to gain it back....mine is SLOWWWWW, I wish it were quicker.  It drops between 1-1.5lbs a week. tops for me.  I have to say, I think once I add the gym in, I may see quicker results...but muscle building might 'equal' up the scale, which is fine as long as I can start losing inches where it matters and adding them where i need it (my ass has gotten flat as a pancake lol).

Congratulations! One of my good friends had the gastric sleeve done and I know how hard it was both with recovery afterwards and moving forward with different lifestyle habits. I am so incredibly proud of her. There is nothing easy about it. I would say that since BM never liked you, and while she may be jealous of your progress, expect her to cheapen your progress. She will be ugly about it and that is a reflection of her so don't internalize any of it!
