One more-OT-Panic

sorry for blog hogging but posting about DH doctor issues reminded me of my issues...I was doing SO well dammit.

My follow up appointment with the doctor that did the ultrasound/antibiotics/etc isn't until the 28th.  I finished the hellish two week antibiotic treatment on I think the 8th.

My follow up appointment isn't until the 28th because that was the first day said doctor had available.

After finishing antibiotics I have a pain/tugging feeling in my right side/lower abdomen.  It went on for three days straight 24/7. No nausea, no bathroom issues, just this tug-ow-tight-irritated feeling.

Planned parenthood scheduled me to come in on the 16th to see a different doctor...but when I showed up they had no appointment on file so I wasn't able to be seen.  I am still waiting for the 28th but I still don't feel right.  I just want to throw a tantrum and stomp my feet and punch something.  It's just "off".  Something is wrong but I have no idea what.  If they end up saying I need my tube removed, I'm going to beg for a hysterectomy.  I have a gut feeling that if they remove the one tube...years later something will go wrong with the other one because I truly believe my body is trying to kill me.

I also read about getting off Depo Provera and read all the horror stories.  I did not know the side effects of coming off Depo were so severe, I figure if I have to deal with all those symptoms just to get off depo I might as well get a hysterectomy and deal with the same symptoms.  I have been on it for 7 years.  If I knew about the side-effects I never would have gone on it.

Thanks for listening.  Can't talk to my mom about it because her new "thing" is walking away from you when you are in the middle of a sentence if she has no interest.  Also she is calling me by my cousins name again so pretty sure she doesn't even know it's her daughter talking to her anyways.

Please be prepared to battle for a hysterectomy.  I had a benign tumor the size of a grapefruit, had zero interest in preserving fertility and doc didn't even think there would be anything salvageable to stitch back together after removal... but I still battled for nearly a year for the procedure because I was under 40.

And then, just for fun, the insurance company told me it wasn't medically necessary so it wasn't covered.  Ha!  So that was another year long battle.  And my doc advocated for me every step of the way.

All that mess aside it was absolutely worth it.  I had some rules for my doc - no huge scars, no power tools, no lifetime of taking hormones.  He did a wonderful job and I'm forever grateful to him.

All of my issues and annoyances were gone by the time the anesthesia left my body.  I was actually human by my two week follow up.  All that's left are my ovaries - that have given me zero problems in the 4 years since my surgery.

Feel free to message me if you'd like details on my mess or have any questions or if you think I can help at all.

Just don't be surprised if they offer and push for the bare minimum in the name of fertility.  I hope you can find relief soon.  It was like a switch flipped for me, it was such a stark difference.

I hate how doctors are so "you will change your mind and want children"....NO I wont.  And as far as crap being covered you're right.  I know 100% this is going to be a disaster because I'm already at least 1k in the hole for "treating" this unsolved tube issue and insurance is fighting me every step of the way on what is "necessary" or not.  It's infuriating.  A guy wants to get "snipped" and it's not an issue, but women practically need a jury and ransom note to even get a foot in the door.

Wish I never took depo i think 3-4 years I was on it. I now have fibroids in my uterus that cause me pain and problems. Not sure if its related but the side effects of depo while I was taking it should have told me something is wrong. Going off of it was great. My cycle went back to normal and I quickly lost most of the weight I had gained.

Funny I was always dieting on depo to just maintain. Gave up amd stopped dieting and gained. A lot. After depo didnt diet at all and the weight fell off. Dont get me wrong, I watched what I ate but no more than usual.
