BM Demands Mind-Reading and other Wacky Crap from this Week

It’s been a wild and wacky couple of days with the Skids and BM. The girls have been here since Wed evening. As I previously posted, SD12 arrived with her surly attitude and was rewarded yesterday with a scooter ride from Daddy and unlimited computer time yesterday/last night.

FDH had planned to rent a sailboat for a couple hours today to take them out and do something nice and fun. Last night, conversations went like this:

Me- Did you tell the girls what your plan is for tomorrow?

FDH- I told SD15. She’s really excited.

Me- She’s not the one you need to worry about.

Later at dinner, FDH said “Tomorrow at 11AM we are going to go on a sailboat”. SD12’s face changed from a smile to looking like he instead said “Tomorrow at 11AM we are taking you to the doctor who needs to give you 10 shots in your face”. She then said “I hate sailboats”. He asked her when she’d been on one and apparently it was at one of her two whole days at camp before she got kicked out. I felt bad for him. Here is trying to do something nice for his kids and this one is such a spoiled, ungrateful, self-centered brat that she would act this way in response to something most kids would love to do. I guess there is not Wi-Fi on a sailboat. So I said, “OK, you can stay home and do my job and I will go on the fun sailboat”. Jerk.

Later in the evening, FDH was looking at his calendar on his iPad and suddenly says “Oh no… Tomorrow is SD12’s orientation at her new middle school. It’s from 9-12. I guess I will take her in the morning then drop her off at BM’s (who lives close to the school- we are 45 minutes away) and then come back and take SD15 sailing”. Sounds like a plan.

This morning we wake up and at 8:01 he gets a text. Of course, we knew it was from BM before looking at the phone. (She is now a huge fan of texting/calling hours since she has moved in with HER boyfriend and recently berated him for sending one late at night even though she has outright refused to comply with our request). So the text was one minute after the allowed start time. She said “You know her orientation is at 10 today, right?” He told he yes and he planned to take her.

Before they left, I look over and SD all dressed and ready for orientation but sitting there hugging a giant teddy bear like she was 4 years old. She took it in the car with her. Strange as hell. The therapist has told them that when she gets nervous she reverts to very childlike behavior with stuffed animals and they need to break her of that. So no way would I have let her get in the car with it. Was she really planning on carrying that into her middle school orientation? The image makes me laugh. But this kid really has some serious problems.

On the way there, around 10:30, BM calls FDH yelling at him and asking him where he is. He told her they were on their way to school. She said “I have been waiting for you for 30 minutes! I’ve now missed an hour of work. You were supposed to be here at 10!!” He pointed out that 1- the orientation is any time between 9 and 12 and 2- she never told him she planned to go too 3- there was absolutely no need for both of them to be there. It’s his time with his kid and he’s taking care of it.

I was absolutely blown away. She is losing her damn mind and expects him to read hers! I seriously cannot stop shaking my head over that one.

Then she asks FDH if he took SD15 for swim team tryouts yesterday. He said no one, including SD, told him there were tryouts. He called SD15 and she said “Oh, they are today”. So she was planning on going on a boat and not mentioning this? So weird. Of course, she only owns a bikini so FDH spent the day running around with her trying to find her an appropriate bathing suit. Again, he gets stuck with the expense because BM is lazy. In the end, FDH looked up the swim team info online and apparently try-out were every day this week and they could’ve gone any day.

They are all gone now and I am happy. No kids and BM to deal with this weekend. I’ve seriously had enough of their crazy town for one week!

Thank you. It sucks. She's been a nightmare since I met her at age 9 and gets worse by the day because of Mickey and Minnie running the parenting show. I blame them completely.

I forgot to add that I paid for SD15's online alcohol and drug course required before getting a learner's permit. If FDH isn't going to reward her for being a good kid and chooses to reward bad behavior, I will. I told her how happy I was that she was back from out of state and that I missed her and then signed her up. She was really excited and thankful.

I later had yet another conversation with FDH about this. I told him I can't stand how he rewards the problem one and the good kid gets brushed aside. It is wrong on so many levels.
