OT - Eff Off Friday

Aniki-Moderator's picture

This has been an utterly crap week.

Eff off to:

  • Cancer, that *&#@*+)>{%!!. My sweet stepsister, who lost her dear husband to cancer a few short months ago, passed away yesterday after a short, vicious fight. My stepmom is heartbroken and my faith is faltering.

Hug those dear to you and tell them you love them. It may be your last chance.

ETA 03/25/21:

Thank you all so much for your kindness. My apologies for not responding sooner. xoxo

I'm so sorry to hear about your and your families loss.

So sorry Aniki for your loss. I understand what you mean about your faith faltering. Sometimes things just don't make sense. This past year is one of them. I lost a step brother 12 years ago. He was murdered in broad daylight. Crazy.  My step mum never really got over it. Keep her in your thoughts or prayers. Again my condolences. And hugs to you.

How tragic. I am sorry. Sometimes life makes no sense.

Aniki  how sad. Too much sorrow.

I lost my twin sister, to drugs several years ago.  My older sister and I keep her memory alive. My mama refuses to talk about it. She knows when she wants or is ready we are here for her. My mama still sets her plate at family gatherings, when asked or we talk about it she goes quiet. Very sad.

So EFF OFF to deaths that are tragic and leave you with WHY? !

Thank you, Queen. How awful for your step mum. I cannot imagine suffering thought that.

I'm so sorry for your loss, Aniki. Cancer is a nasty beast and I wish it upon absolutely no one.

Faith is a fickle thing. I've struggled with it when things seem inhumane. I don't have any great wisdom to offer. Empathy and sympathy, though, I've got that for you.

So sorry Aniki.

This is why I work where I do.  I spend my working life on supporting research into curing cancer and other horrible diseases.

Hugs to you and your family.  It is difficult especially when still grieving on loss to deal with another.  My condolences.

I am so sorry to hear that, Aniki. I cannot begin to imagine your pain. Please accept these transatlantic hugs - sending as many as I can muster.

I'm so sorry.  Faltering faith is completely understandable at times. Once, when my own was faltering, a dear friend told me that it was okay, she would just have enough faith for both of us.

I am sorry Aniki.  So many things don't make sense right now and it seems the negative just keep piling on.  My heart goes out to you & your stepmom. Faith will falter in times like this so I hope the love and care you see here keeps you going.

Again, why are the good swept off this earth far too early, yet the horrid live an eternity?
