It has been a long, hard 9 years being a step parent to 2 kids. Does it get any easier? I find my self counting down the years we have left. Is that wrong? I have never said these things to my husband, because it would hurt him. But it does not seem to be getting easier. There for a while me and my step daughter seem to get close but now it is like she is a different person. She is rude and disrespectful to me and my family. I try to not even have anything to do with her, but that hurts me because I thought we were closer than that. I feel like the mom brain washes them.

WHY I would do this to myself, I don't know? Now I'm a mess of anxiety today.

I'm beyond frustrated and stressed out living with my SO and his two kids that he has 50/50 custody of. There is so much drama created by BM and my SO doesn't seem to be able to control any of it. The kids have no rules at their BM's house and act like little animals in my home. I was previously married for 18 years and have an 18-year old son so I am a little more than set in my ways.

My boyfriend's attorney was so nasty yesterday that I was on the verge of tears. He told me, "your case is no different than the other 25 cases on my desk!" Since I am new to this site, I sat at my computer and read for hours all the turmoil a lot of you suffer from as well. Yes...I agree my case is NOT special, but that doesn't give him the right to minimize the havoc my ex's cuckoo bird is causing. I'm just saying!! If all goes well...boyfriend's divorce should be finalized in January or I would love nothing better to fire his POMPOUS ASS!!!

So in a nice email, DH and BM agreed on who would have the kids when this holidays. We're not getting them for Christmas or Old Year's/New Years because she asked to have them.

I know how most on here feel about facebook, But alot of people use it to keep in touch with friends and relatives far away. Me included.
I am fairly new at it, I really wasnt into it until my daughter moved 1500 miles away.
So here is my question if anyone knows.
I have all my privacy settings set to friends and friends of friends only. Most are just friends including pics and personal info.

Well Youngest SS has been on his own for almost 6 months. Husband texts with him from time to time and I dropped Thanksgiving dinner off to him at work. It's the only time I've seen him since he left here. He was polite but quiet.
Oldest SS recently traded in the truck my husband had co signed on and bought a new car so my husbands off the note now Oldest SS seems to be doing well. He's in college and working and paying his own way.

Just married with a new baby. Hubby's ss is 13 and now wants to move in with us. Why after all these years is it an issue? I signed up to have ss on weekends only. Not happy about the change in attitude. How do I squash the issue without being "mean"?

I found a poem the other day in my "Chicken Soup for the Parent's Soul" that just brought me to tears! It was about a 16 year old young man, but when he sleeps he is still the little boy his mother remembers...

I laid the book aside, thinking I would create a quick scrapbook page for PITA 16, my SS, to remind him that even though he's a little shit, I do love him, as a last minute Christmas present.

Loghead and I went with Princess yesterday to see the doctor about a possible eating disorder. The doctor has seen over our care for the last 6 years, and he was very concerned for her. Losing 20 pounds in 6 months for such a skinny little thing is NOT GOOD. He ran blood work just to rule out any other health conditions, and we meet with a dietician after Christmas.

Loghead even spoke to Loca Grande about it- that just shows how serious he things this is...
