Maybe SD is growing up....

lovin-life's picture

Just a little observation from Monday night. Youngest SD & finance were over helping set up a surround sound system. SD had just baked a pie and brought some over... While we were downstairs..she went upstairs and fixed up plates of pie.forks..and brought them down for everyone. (Pie was delicious too) So later she's gathering up the dirty plates *shock* (as Fearless might say) to take them upstairs & put them in the dishwasher... Dad JUMPS up to take the first one from her and says "I'll get those!".. She insists on doing it herself!!!

Does anyone else find this to be VERY STRANGE?!

Okay so we heard through the “grape vine” that SD5’s mother had flown to Vegas last weekend when we had the kids and gotten married…now she did tell us that she was “going out of town” for the weekend and would pick SD5 up late on Sunday…NEVER SAID A WORD about getting married!

phone calls

disengagedfeelingood's picture

My husband's exwife calls all the time. She denies this. So I asked him to keep a log for one month (30 days), he did. In thirty days she called him 54 TIMES!! He made copies to show her the date, the time, and the reason. She still denies making all these phone calls!! They have three children together, but still the phone calls are ridiculous!! What is a person to do? We can't change phone numbers, because of the kids. She calls our house phone, work phone, and his cell phone. I have an exhusband and we have two kids together. I never talk to him. Please help!!

Naming a child beneficiary on a policy over a spouse?

Nise's picture

I want to know how many of your are in a situation where the step-child is named beneficiary on the Insurance Policy….we are in court right now…(home away from home it seems in custody/visitation/support issues) and trying to amend some things and our attorney asked if my SD, the 5 year old, is named beneficiary on my husband’s life insurance policy and if we wanted to write that into the plan…well my response was no she is not and no we do not…I guess my question is why would someone do this?

Update

I wanted to update all on my biopsy I had done last week and ask for more prayers! The results came back that I do in fact have breast cancer! I go in this afternoon for an MRI to make sure that the cancer is indeed confined to just the breast and after that will be an appointment to see the surgeon and find out my options. I am so confused, hurt, sad, mad and downright scared right now, but I know in my heart that things will be okay. I am strong, I am tough and I will beat this thing!

For those of you who don't know, my ss who lived with us last year, recently moved back in with his mom, right before school started, and against our wishes. Thank goodness for the court system, bm has all the rights yet has no stability.

I was just curious, has anyone seen the movie Stepmom with Ed Harris, Julia Roberts and Susan Sarandon

Synopsis: Divorce is tough on everyone, even the new girlfriend. Isabel (Roberts) is dating Luke (Harris) and his ex (Sarandon) doesn't like it one bit. Roberts is working her way into Sarandon's children's hearts and Sarandon isn't about to let that happen.

Anna and Ben are the children.

Memorable Quotes:

My fiancee and his exwife

Sofie's picture

Hello, This is the first time I have spoken out on this. I came across your website and need some insight. My fiancee and his exwife broke up 6 years ago, as she left him for another man with their children. He is a great father and stays in touch always and has holiday visits with them. Two years ago we met and fell in love and have decided to get married. I to am an exwife and my exhusband remarried when our son was only 3 and now my son has a 1/2 brother. So I do understand and I can relate to exwives and children from broken up homes.
