Need Site Logo Design Suggestions

Dawn-Moderator's picture

I am trying to come up with a logo for Step Talk and I need some logo design ideas. Something that represents the site. If anybody has any ideas, let me know.

Thanks in advance!

When I saw your post I immediately saw this picture:

three steps moving upward from the left, three steps moving upward from the right and an arched bridge in between.

Just my Sunday morning brain blip Smile

Have a good day!

Those are some good ones Fearless! My mind is blank at the moment so I'm glad others have some ideas. Wink

how about three hearts...a large one in the center with a man and woman in it..one smaller one on each side overlapping and intertwining with the bottom portion of the large one...the smaller ones containing a boy and a girl each....then on the side where the man stands a woman will be on the edge of the smaller heart signifying the childs bio parent outside of the marriage but still connected to the child/children and the other side wil be the same but opposite sexes....have both adults standing on a platform at the top of a pyramid staircase...and one child of each sex on the steps on the sides signifying of course steps and the fact that all of the family is linked together in all different directions....then top the whole sceen with a rainbow background for two reasons 1. because a rainbow is a symbol of the promise to never face total destruction again. and 2. because this stands for all colors and mixes and blends thereof. Showing all of these details blending together would show the blending of the family. I wish I could draw it and show you it would be so much easier than describing it.
Good luck finding just the right thing.

What about a graphic that is a heart that breaks, then fuses back together repeatedly?

Something a little different to consider...

I like the idea of puzzle pieces, because ultimately, we're all a piece of the family puzzle (whether anyone disagrees with us stepparents). We are all part of the bigger picture in raising these kids- PERIOD.

So, I have a font that when you type words, it creates it into a connected puzzle. (It's pretty cool.) I thought it might be cool to play with it, and I typed Step (space) Talk... be kinda cool to make the space a falling off sorta puzzle piece, etc. Just a thought.

How about three adult stick figures strangling the shit out of each other while two medium-sized stick figures wearing name-brand tennis shoes point and snicker at the generic tennis shoes worn by the two smallest stick figures?

Our two adults and two children sitting on the "steps" in front of their home and the sign on the mailbox says "Poor House."

Sorry, must've been something funny in my coffee. I'm usually much more positive than this when I'm fully caffienated.

How about incorporating a spiral staircase in place of the letter S in Step Talk? Reason being, spiral staircases always make me a little nervous... they are narrow and somewhat confining, they make you a little dizzy, they can be difficult to navigate when you are carrying a heavy burden, one misstep and you end up with a broken neck. Kind of like living in a blended family.

How about a merry go round - because We go round and round, up and down.

We show a guy with his kids on it...and the guy trying to give us his
hand while we are trying to get on the damn ride.

Or maybe just a train wreck...

(I'm not in a great mood tonight as you can tell. Hee hee.)

Anne 8102's picture

That sounds good, but better make sure at least one person is puking off the side of it. Wink

You now the saying... (this is spinning off of Bonus Wife's comment)

there's a light at the end of the tunnel... it's a train! Yeah, could have BM hanging out the window as the conductor of the train, while we SM is roped to the tracks with a bleak look on face... like those old fashion cartoons. lol

Let me guess... he's standing at the switch trying to decide if he should throw the switch to send the train to another track and make wife happy or if he should just let the ex roll right over her "for the sake of the kids."

could be hanging on to the end of the train like they were superman... with the cabooze whipping off the tracks! LOL... (They're just caught on the ride...)

You guys are too funny. I can always count on you for making me smile first thing in the a.m. Thanks.

I for one, got a kick out of your "anonymous" post and was thinking..leave it to a man to think he could "fool" a woman...LOL

Like your idea though!!!

"some times in our lives, we all have pain, we all have sorrow, but if we are wise, we know that there's alway's tomorrow. Lean on me. When your not strong, and I'll be your friend, I'll help you carry on, for it won't be long, 'till I'm gonna need, somebody to lean on."

"I just might have a problem that you'll understand, we all need somebody to lean on"

"If there's a load, you have to bear, that you can't carry, I'm right up the road, I'll share your load"

To me, I see this site as more of a friendship between strangers then the families we represent.

What about a string of people, different sizes and shapes, some holds hands, some with arms around a shoulder and some just leaning on each other.

OldTimer's picture

Like the paper dolls that hold hands. That's an awesome idea. I vote for this!

By the way, I LOVE your avatar... it's a little nosy. heh hehe.

Thank you. I was afraid people would think I was nuts. Vering off the idea of our blended families and going toward our friendships.

And I couldn't help but get that avatar. I also told Fearless about the one she is using. When I saw that one, I immediately thought of her. And aren't you a looker.

holeekrap's avtar personally...because in only a month I have been caught here and rescued here more than once. When we find ourselves falling we know we can come and be caught by a friend.

I kinda like the simplicity of what you have now. Sweet and to the point. And while I know everyone has different tastes, (no disrespect) I don't associate rings and hearts with step-families. Instead, they make me think weddings- like those wedding planning sites, or new marriage sites. Something that I don't believe this site was quite intended for. Yes, we have our marriage issues, but is that the norm here?

stairsteps..... leading UP somewhere.... maybe with a bright shining sun at the top..... or a rainbow overhead...... i've tried to think of ways to symbolize all of the outpouring of assistance and moral support we give each other through our writings and have been unable to do it justice.....
