Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Hmmm..not sure of that one. I don't know if you try to send them a message it may tell you you're blocked...??? Not sure...sorry...
Correct, also if you do a
Correct, also if you do a name search or email search for them, they will not show up.
Yep, i've had to block three
Yep, i've had to block three people (thanks to BM) and when you block them, even when they search for you, they won't find you and as far as I know, they don't show up in searches for them either.
On a related note, I noticed that there is a FB application that says you can track who views your page. Anyone know if this is true??!
I would also like to know if
I would also like to know if it is true if i can see who views my page? No one else can view my page if I have it marked "friends only," correct?
That should be correct.
That should be correct. "Friends only" should be all that can see it, just keep up with FB they like to change stuff all the time.
I think the tracking who
I think the tracking who views your page is also a virus there are a ton of them on FB, if it's not something FB offers I'd be leary of clicking it.
The only sure way to know
The only sure way to know someone blocked you is if they were once visible and now they aren't. They could have deleted there account but thats not usually the case. BTW I'm only posting here to warn you there is an app going around on FB that says it will show you who blocked you. Don't believe it for one minute, it's a virus. There is no known way to show who blocked you
I'm asking, because when I
I'm asking, because when I first logged onto my account I use for the skids and the BM only, that BM was on-line... I immediately got off, because I didn't want her to send me an instant message.
When I got on a little later, everything about her that had been on my page, my skids' pages or the pages of 2 mutual "friends" was gone. I'm wondering if she blocked me or deleted her own account, or what...
If we were friends, but she blocked me, can she still see my stuff?
If she felt that way about it, do I need to somehow block her so she can't see what I facebook with the skids? Or once blocked, its all done- she can't see me, i can't see her?
i just double checked and all my settings are "friends only."
I'm sure this has to do with the fact she lied for Princess on Friday, but I didn't accuse her of lying or say anything to her after i discovered she had lied for Princess.
I just want to know if she did block me, am I safe from her now, that she can't see my stuff?
All my posts and photos on that page were carefully thought out, knowing she might see them.
I have BM blocked but I can
I have BM blocked but I can see her profile page and who her friends are so if you block you can still see the person you are blocking!!
There is no APP that lets you see a private profile - it is a ploy to try and get you to buy something. Believe me I have tried it all!!
Okay, here's the facebook
Okay, here's the facebook deal. If you're blocked, it's the same as if the person deleted their account. No way to tell. Unless of course you use an alternate email
to set up an alternate account and search for
that person.
The tracker app doesn't work. There is no way to track who is viewing your page.
