Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

I am a HUGE football fan.
I am a HUGE football fan. But if it's not SEC college football, I don't know a whole lot about it.
But I do love the Saints! Who Dat?
Actually, I did watch the end of that game, though. It was a good one. In my opinion, football season is the most wonderful time of the year! We spent all day watching college football on Saturday.

I'm acollege football fan myself. And also a Cowboy fan. So we WILL watch next week's game!

Longhorns for me. }> Hook'Em Horns.
I quit supporting a particular conference when the SWC broke up. Personally I like the way Notre Dame does it. They are independent and play a much tougher schedule than the teams in any given conference. If Notre Dame wins a national championship, ther really are national champions. A national championship won by anyone in a conference is suspect unless they are the sole undefeated team in Div 1-A. IMHO of course. The BCS is a joke and should be replaced with a play off system. Keep the bowl system but use the bowls as a playoff to a true championship game. The engineer in me just can not see a national champion determined by voting as legitimate.
As far as the NFL I like Oakland and Denver. I even grew a soft spot for the Criminals (I mean Eagles) while I lived in the Philly area. When I say Criminals I am not just talking about the players. The fans are worse than the players. There is actually a Court at the Linc with a Judge that hears cases and issues judgment during games.
I made the mistake of wearing a red and grey rain coat to an Eagles/Skins game once and almost died from flying beer bottles. I had to take my Eagles sweatshirt out from under the rain coat and put it on over the rain coat. Once I did that I had more beer from the surrounding fans than I could drink. Of course bottles are not legal in the stadium but there were many flying in my direction during the game. :?
Sorry...not a football
Sorry...not a football lover...Astros all the way!! This is the time of year that I become a "sports widow". DH loves baseball, football and golf. He can go from one to the other all day on Saturday, but Sunday is better because there is more football! College, professional, little league, Pop Warner...doesn't matter...he'll watch it!
