Countdown Post Last Two Months

Of almost 20 yrs of CS.  For those of you who are not aware New York state is one of those few states where child support goes to age 21 regardless of the circumstances.

There are some cases here where the so-called child has moved out of the custodial parent's home, is on their own, in their own apartment, working full-time and CS still keeps going to the BM.

But yet the so-called child has already been eligible to vote in local and general elections for the past 3 years as an adult!

Also for those who are unaware,  the more CS the local enforcement agencies collect and pass through their bureaucracy, the more federal funds they receive through the Social Security Act.  Sounds like a kickback scheme to me.

Two more months.  And they are turning back the clock tomorrow.  LOL just my luck!

About before divorcing. CS.. The years of CS, medical bills..money for school activities.. sports activities..How visitation will work.    Can you co parent with each other.  What's happened when there is going to be a SO in the picture. On both sides.  You should know that the SO most likely not like your kids. Will not like your ex.

Whan to to disassociate with the ex. Not actually talk to the ex. Wants you to put the SO above everyone else.  Don't want the Happy Family but alone time with you.

No doubt that hour is infuriating beyond belief.

As for NY, I would get a vasectomy before partaking of intimacy in NY.

Congratulations on being squarely on the glide path to cutting off BM from the CS Gravy Train.

Now, go get a paternity test and sue the shit out of her for fraud and extortion if it comes back that DH is not bio daddy.  Just for fun.

If a "child" lives on their own and works full time, I think you could petition courts to put an end to CS. The law actually specifies that CS ends if a child is "self supporting". CS only continues till 21 if a child isn't supporting him/herself

situation  when CS still goes to BM and kids are already renting their own places and working full time is likely due to arrears. Not actual CS.

the whole situation with CS till 21 is ridiculous but there's no law that you must pay BM if kids are self sufficient and independent. It's a misinformation

DH was paying until MSS finished full time education.  I'm pretty sure he was 23. *diablo*

Probably bc the cost of living in NY is so d@mn high hell I as a middle aged woman would be trying to get child support from my parents if I lived there lol!!!

I doubt most 18-21 yo could hack it independently unless they were already from a wealthy family, married rich, or hustled in high paying adult type careers

I get it but I'm sure it's still annoying.
