Chipped front tooth

Sweet T's picture

On Friday bs10 had an accident at school and his front tooth got chipped. It isn't really a big chip but it is his permanent front tooth.

Our dentist is on vacation, as soon as they are back we will go in, I am assuming they will file it down. It needs to be looked at to make sure there isn't a crack.

I was texting with his father about it since he picked him up Saturday and had him till 5pm today. He wants me to wait and take him at the end of May when his next check up is because cleanings are free. He doesn't want to pay for another visit.

Really??? What is irritating is he is so.cheap unless it is something for him. I don't get lot of cs. I carry the insurance and in 4 years I passed along one 22.00 bill. He is supposed to pay 40% of medical but because he is such a ass about money I just pay the whole amount.

I texted and said I am taking him and I will pay it all. He quit testing after that.

Geez, I wouldn’t even wait for your regular dentist to get back from vacation. My son fell and chipped a tooth when he was 10. Turns out the roots on the tooth next to it were damaged. If we’d waited, it would have meant a root canal to save that tooth. If it happened at school, the school’s insurance should pick up what yours doesn’t cover.

Thanks NTM for sharing that. I will check tomorrow on dentists under our insurance and see about getting into one. I have been having the internal struggle on am I over reacting or under.

I don't care about who pays what, it is about our kids permanent teeth.

This is not a wait thing.

The tooth is compromised. Maybe it will be on or maybe there's damage begin what you see. It's best to get him in and looked over right away.

Even if it's just a chip I'd think it makes the tooth more prone to cavaties since it's an irregular surface.

I agree with the others, don't wait. Get him in and I would text back today and tell your ex that you changed your mind. You are taking him now to insure that there is not more damage than you can see and that you are making sure BS ins't going to lose his tooth. You will send the bill once you receive it.
