Well played SD20, well played

Background: DH hasn't given SD20 money for a while (as far as I know). This is very unusual. She decided to live in the dorms over summer and take classes, and DH told her he wasn't paying for dorms because it is not necessary (her college is in same town where BM and BM's mom live). So SD said she'd pay for dorms herself. So far he has stood by what he said. Well, SD20 got fired once from her job and rehired, I think just from being in the right place at the right time. She's getting quite a reputation in her medium-sized town, which I'm sure doesn't stand her in good stead as far as her job is concerned. So she posted online about how she's having to dip into her savings because her job won't schedule her.

Cue the thinly veiled attempts to tug at DH's heartstrings. Recently DH's mom was in the hospital. SD20 only knows this if DH tells her, because she's not in any sort of regular contact with them. So she texts him about how she called and talked to DH's mom in the hospital and is praying for her and yadda yadda yadda. You have to know SD20 to know she is only doing this to look good to DH. Then the tornados that came through recently were close to our house. She waited two days, then texted Dh and asked if he was OK. Oh, he was so touched by her concern and thoughtfulness! Gag.

So, if she's trying to get back in his good graces and get money out of him (which I know she is), this was a good start. Well played SD20.

Oh, he definitely won't see through them. He sees everything she does at face value. She's SO concerned about her grandmother AND DH and our kids. So sweet! Gag again.

Quote: Oh, he was so touched by her concern and thoughtfulness!

Sorry to ask but was he genuinely touched or does this sentence require sarcasm tags?

Maybe I should just change my handle to "Blue Marbles", or "Beaten Sack" or "Brokendown Smelted Jewels"?

But I'm totally healed, and totally functioning (just without the swimmers)! Thanks for asking.

No sarcasm tags from his point of view. He was genuinely touched and, I'm sure, proud of this person he raised. Ginormous sarcasm tags from me, however.

I beg to differ. I know this person (SD20) better than anyone here. Calling the day OF the tornado to check on your father is concern. Texting two days after is not.
