Eff Off and Forn

CLove's picture

I havent seen one yet, so Ill just make one Biggrin

Eff Off To:

1. Husband who hasnt picked up after his dog yet, and SD16 PMP whose only chore is this, hasnt been around in 2 weeks as they move into the new Mobile-home-share situation, and so Ive been picking up. Im doing some yard work in our backyard, so...

2. Co workers. Strage situation with new hire. Its a small office, dude comes in, plants himself in Assistant Managers Office and talks nonstop for 1-2 hours. Not about work. Its an office of 3. He barely sais two words to me, and barely speaks to the General Manager HIS BOSS. I feel like the outsider in the boys club.

Forn. We live in an area with a diverse cultural landscape. One of the dominant cultures is Asian. So there are many places to get spices and and ingredients to make the dishes we love at home. One of my faves is Ramen.

- Packaged ramen noodles

- Organic beef broth base with fresh chopped ginger and garlic

- mushrooms, cabbage

- toasted seaweed

- soft boiled egg, sliced or whole

Garnished with: Furikake, sesame seeds, chopped green onion, chicharrones cracklings chopped and patisse (fish sauce)

Eff off to a coworker who has done two things this month that have cost me extra work.. and now one of them is preventing me from finalizing my month end reporting.. because he is out today.. and can't answer why an invoice came in 1.6 MILLION dollars lower than plan.. poop.

I'll join in this one.

Eff off to:  Fixing multiple people's / departments / other institution's mistakes the past several weeks. I mean, NO ONE is paying attention to what they are doing!  And then it becomes a huge rush / problem for me.  I'm just wiped out today - plus I had to get up at 5:45 am to get to on-site work today.

Eff off to: workplace doing annual employee reviews in the fall, during our busiest period of the year without those added in. Why not move them to the spring? Or maybe mid-winter!?  Come on.

Eff of to: being involve in an internal project that's going as the internal group expected - Not Good. The tool is cumbersome, confusing, and doesn't help with all projects. I'd rather spend 5-10 min updating my XLS sheet than use that new system. We're prepared to give a vote of no confidence for it because there's NO way any of my co-workers will use it. They would laugh and say, um, hard pass.

Eff off to: My salad today - it was a to-go salad that are usually super good. It was tiny. like, I'm going to need more food before I leave work today tiny. I think someone messed up.

Eff off to: pets getting sick. Baby boy Kitty is doing well still with advancing kidney disease but needs 2x per week fluids - and he's the best boy with them. But I need another person helping and DH will not be available next week so I have to find someone else kitty trusts to be his "handler and consoler." I'm going to miss that cat fiercely just like his sister.

I love ramen too!  I have some good pre-packaged stuff (Costco) and if I don't have any tofu I'll crack an egg into it once it's almost done for a poach, add edamame to it too.

Sushi, Teriyaki (oh, I'm going to get that on Saturday!) from our fave place, UDON noodle soup!

We love asain food in our home too.

- Ugh. Rollouts. I know they are hard as it is and if the tool doesnt really work well, its just a waste of bonus money...IMHO

- I make my own salads and add deli meat for protein. Couldnt finish the thing.

- poor Baby Boy...snuggles to him

Eff off to being sick. Just a sore throat and congestion but it's enough that I can't sleep and had to miss a friends b*day party today. Thankfully Covid-test came back negative and I am fully vaxed so hopefully it stays that way.

Eff off to Covid sedentary lifestyle hitting at the same time as my mid 40's and no matter how much I pick up the pace the extra weight just doesn't fall off the way it used to. I already drink lightly but I could cut it out completely. What am I talking about? SDiabla's are probably coming home for the holidays ...

Forn: It's funny that you mentioned ramen noodles because just last night I made delicious beef, shitake mushroom and spinach ramen noodle soup from my One Pot Cooking cookbook. I LOVE some of the recipes in there, another great one is a one pot jumbo noodle (unstuffed) with butternut squash and ricotta cheese ...

I have really been craving a big piece of vanilla cake with buttercream frosting but so far have abstained ... Refer to 2nd Eff off for why ...

- yesterday. With COVID we are encouraged to be extra careful. Ive got 17 days accrued so I dont see the point in letting them sit idle. Thank goodness you are negative! But too bad you had to miss a party.

- In my 50's needing to drop 30. MY dad encourages me to do Keto. And stop drinking wine. Might try a Sober October (its not too late right?)

- yum Cheese Biggrin I like cheese

- yum. Cake. Pie. Ice Cream. Craving all those too Biggrin

Thank you, CLove! *kiss2* This day has been a bear.

Eff off to:

  • People panicking about "issues" that apparently only I can solve and it must be TODAY. I've been in back-to-back-to-back-to-back zoom calls since 0630 and finished up the last one 10 minutes ago. Nothing like muting yourself to hastily chew lunch.
  • King Pita. Dude, I know you're busy. So am I. But please take 2 seconds to reread that email chain before chastising ME for Princess Huffy's crap response that included The Big Giant Head. Asshat.
  • ASSumptions. Living in the Northwoods does not mean I live in some termite-riddled, smoke-stained-inner-wall, one room hovel. However, if you'd like to assume I wrestle grizzlies and win and it intimidates you? I'm all in for that.

Forn

I am craving a juicy beef burger with bleu cheese, a side of asparagus, and a glass of Silver Oak cab.

CLove's picture

Yes ASSumptions. People think Im such a mean cranky b!iotch. LOL. Im a softie.

YUM! You deserve to fulfull that craving Biggrin

People at our end always want it yesterday, but when we need something, crickets start chirping...

Eff Off to people who give their notice at work then proceed to do nothing. No training new people, no wrapping up complicated projects. And I'd say eff off to the person's supervisor too but she's been so busy putting out other fires that I have some compassion there.

My DH has the palate of a 7 year old, and he swears he doesn't like this or that. Refused to go to a Vietnamese restaurant near us for the longest time. I think I finally shamed him into it. Now it's his new favorite place. Pho all the way for me.

CLove's picture

We have someone retiring in August 2023. And hes so disconnected. It happens and it sucks and theres nothing you can do, which is a big part of the suckage.

Well Pho-ck that, with limitations on food Acute I love my Pho, and Husband loves his Oxtail version. I add broccoli to my chicken pho ga.

Rags's picture

I lived on it in Morocco for 2yrs. With diced French chicken roll, green chile paste.... and 40 Lbs later......

Moroccan veggies are the most flavorful I have ever experienced.  No pesticides, no inorganic fertilizers, etc..

It is the meat that I/we shied away from.  Open air meat markets with carcases hanging with insects crawling all over them, birds landing on them, etc... Even in the Carrefour grocery stores the meat counter was nauseating.  The one exception I had was the lamb. OMG, that stuff was manna from heaven.  The seafood was amazing as well. We bought it right off of the fishing boats as they moored at the dock.

CLove's picture

Sounds like a Mercado here in my area! The smell is bad for me, but the meat counter is so popular.

We also have much in the way of fresh fish. And calamari fresh off the boat and into my fryer Biggrin

Eff-Off:  Nothing specific. Just Eff-Off to the entire week.  My team and I got pummelled this week with technical issues.  On top of that...we had two Regional Directors in house, two Regional Managers (one internal, one customer), and an unannounced herd of their minions disecting my site and team.

Probably because I applied for an RMM role and they are putting me and my team under the hairy eyeball.

F0RN:  I commented on Ramen and Moroccan produce/fish/meat above.  Though i did do an incredible impropto chicken meatball/mushroom/green onion/cacio pepe/Konjac rice (iin lieu of noodles) thing last night.  We live about a block from a Trader Joes. Their pre-cooked season chicken meatballs are a go to when I/we don't feel like dealing with actual meat prep and cooking.  The twist on this go too dish this week was I added a finely dices Seranno pepper.  OMG!

Oh wait, I forgot an Eff-Off Friday event.

Eff-Off to our nosey busy body neighbor.

Our condo complex does not allow charcoal, wood, or gas BBQs/grills.  They do  very clearly allow electric grills.  So, I bought a HUGE!!! electric grill. At least it is huge for an electric grill. I did not want the two burger tiny electric grills.  So I shopped. It is electric, but it looks like a wood/charcoal/gas grill.  Meanwhile, way too long a story, and back at the ranch... I have a hairy eyeball afflicted elderly neighbor who apparently is on the grill witch hunt over my grill.

My DW text'd me on Wed that the neighbor was scoping the grill hard while walking her dog.  Thursday DW text'd me that the same lady was snapping pics of the grill through the landscaped bushes.    DW stepped out to ask her if she had any questions. The lady turned and walked off without a word.

So, when I got home last night I pulled the power cable out from behind the Grill, routed it over the top, velcro strapped it to the handle for the grill top, and bent it up so the plug was erect for the hairy eyeball lady to clearly see.  Hopefully she gets the allegorical reference to a giant boner, or getting flipped off.

It is electric. Deal with it!

I called the Owners Clubhouse, and the HOA management company just to pre-empt the likely nasty gram letters that usually accompany nosey neighbors in community association develpments.  Both of the people i spoke with laughed and said that they had gotten several calls from a single resident about my grill.  I forwarded them the product specs on my grill.  They both said.... to not worry about it.

So, I ordered wood chips and a cast iron wood chip smoker box  to Oak smoke a big brisket on my grill this weekend. And probably a boneless Turkey, and maybe some jalapeno sausage...... Time for a low and slow meat smoking olfactory assault on my nosey neighbor.

CLove's picture

Thats how Husband does that on our smoker - ribs and steaks babay! Sometimes steaks and ribs...

We are sometimes the nosey neighbors, but thats because we live in an area where 4 families coexist and squatted in a house on the corner, and theyve got 4 cars broken down parked everywhere. The dog roams freely and barks at everyone. There is trash floating around on their sidewalks.

But other than that, its like the wild west in our neighborhood - eveyone just does what they want any time they want to.

Rags's picture

I have no issue escalating complaints regarding over loaded homes, crappy cars on jacks in the street, cars parked on lawns, etc.....  I have done it myself.  When my BIL1 got out of the Army his two crappy rust  bucket POS trucks were parked on our curb for couple of months when they both fell apart about 30miles from our home when he was on his way back to SpermLand from Louisiana.  The first vehicle an entire frint wheel and suspension assembly fell off while he was towing the other vehicle. When he switched vehicles the second one had the fadiator fall out and he ran it over with both vehicles.

Our neighbors called the HOA and the Police several tiems while he was getting the parts and making the repairs.  I had to finally give him three days to fix his rust buckets and move on down the road.

I had to walk a very narrow tight rope with my DW and BIL1 to be supportive while not losing it because I hated having the POS fleet in front and beside our home.

We have had a few neighbors over they hears with half a dozen or so families living in one house.  Fortuneately there were city ordinances and HOA enforcements that rectified those situations ..... eventually.

Sorry I'm late, but better late than never right?

Eff off to cramps!  I started my period yesterday and have been cramping since.  I'm 46, suspect I'm perimenopausal and my periods have gotten more painful the past year or so.  My back is killing me!

Eff off to having to work concessions at the Friday night football game while dealing with period cramps AND my daughter wasn't even marching last night.  The doctor hasn't released her to participate in band yet.  He probably will next week.  She was released to go back to school this week and didn't have any problems.

Eff off Wal-Mart.  Please fix your computer issues.  I ordered groceries online like I do every week and I got a message saying my order was delayed.  I got a call back after getting on the in app chat and they couldn't get in touch with the store.  I got a small refund though.  I got in touch with the store and they said oh your order is ready.  We're just having computer issues. I got my groceries and only had enough time to drop off the ice cream, ground turkey, and salad that I'd bought from Sam's Club before I needed to pick up my son from school.

Forn: I got Subway pizza last night for dinner and was able to take home free concessions too.  Got a few hot dogs, pulled pork sandwiches, a cheeseburger, popcorn and fries.  I'm sure between me, my husband, daughter, and son, it will be gone quickly.

Cover1W's picture

I get those worse cramps too. I'm still regular like clockwork but that first day hurts! If it's a weekend I'll just have a lazy couch day and chill out....the brain fog is also stong. My doc suggested taking Advil the day before, or when I notice PMS, and that has helped.

The heavy bleed is the WORST though. It can be so that I avoid going anywhere that first day, or at least have close bathroom access. I've cmbeeb caught out a few times and learned my lesson. Also black pants.

47 over here and I think something is taking over my body. I'm not ready for this... yikes!
