DH would lose his head if it wasn't screwed on

AJanie's picture

He loses everything. Keys, wallets, phones, clothing items, dog leashes, library books and even my first engagement ring (long story)... you name it... he's lost it.

He lost his phone sometime between Easter service (very large event, stadium style seating) and our visits to family (2 houses).

NO - he did not pawn it to buy drugs, for those who will leap to that conclusion. I was with him all day long. He is clean and sober. He realized it was lost and panicked.

The guy loses everything. This time he gets a f*cking flip phone, because obviously he cannot have nice things. I think he has adult ADHD, seriously. He must.

End rant.

He doesn't even deserve a smart phone, lol. A pink razor phone is what he should have. }:)

Hahaha! I'm sorry I'm only laughing because I can 100% relate! And I tell mine he has ADD on a daily basis! He often claims someone must have stolen said missing item.
Yes, SO, a random person broke into our house to take your keys, only to leave the car right out there in the driveway.
Yes, SO, a random person broke into our house to take your favorite Nike gym shirt because they favored that particular shade of red and that just finished sweating my butt off smell that I can't get out.

Haha MEN!

I think there may be programs that can help you locate a lost phone. I think Iphones have it already, but probably something that can be added to most smart phones?

Phone died by the time we figured it out so we cannot even use "locate iphone" app.

DH is the same way. And yes, he has diagnosed ADD.
He takes meds for it and lord forbid he runs out (after three days off them he's a lunatic) because then everything is lost, the house is a mess - if he starts leaving all the doors and drawers in the kitchen open I ask him how it's going... :O

I've had some good talks with him about how I don't track his stuff. If he loses it, then I don't help him find it (unless I happen to know where it is) or replace it. I have my own nice things that I take care of and he knows not to help himself to. It's also part of the reason why we buy glasses/serveware at garage sales and thrift stores...think lots of breakage due to not paying attention while washing dishes or loading/unloading dishwasher.

It does effect his parenting I think, as he gets off task very easily and high emotions can be difficult for him.

But I love him, I help him, and support him, but don't play his mommy.
