When a day off is never a day off

Cindy's picture

I don't know how the rest of you feel and I know a lot of your situations are different but I am starting to feel stifled by the daily stresses of our situation. My SD rides the bus home every day from school to the end of our street and biomom is supposed to pick her up at the bus stop on her days, well the last 3 weeks she's been late and of course SD then comes to our house. This has started to bug me because I really need those days off with no interruption in order to recharge my batteries.

Don't take out your frustration on your husband....

Ladies, I wanted to just share with you what I've been through. Just thought it might help with what our next decision will be, what ever it might be. Since I was 12, my parents always argued about everything, at that time I didn't really know what was going on except that I know my mom just truly hated my father. I didn't know what exactly the reason why because they would fight about everything. As a child, I heard and saw everything that went on between them.

Perseverance

Well, I have been plugging along for the last few days and the heat here in GA has been climbing into the 90's. Yes, it's been quite warm and sunny here. I am still fighting this battle with the dermatitis on my hands, and can hardly hold a pen so much of any correspondence is now typed. And even though I had been taking the Benadryl every four hours to help with the intense itching, it is like eating M and M's now. I awoke in the middle of the night with the intense heat coming from my hands, it just about unbearable.

Stepson says "no" to everything...

I don't know what to make out of this situation...Everytime I offer stepson snacks for school, or anything for that matter, his answer is always "NO." I don't know what to make out of it, I don't know if biomom is telling him not to accept anything from me or what. I feel like a bad stepmom, when all I do is be nice to him.

Talk about Bday Parties....

I plan on having a bday party for my daughter, however stepson bday also falls in the same month as my daughter. I would like to include his celebration also w/my daughter's. I don't know if I should combine the two because I will not be inviting any of stepson's friends or family on biomom side. It is a bit difficult to deal with if biomom side is included. If I don't include them then I feel bad for stepson. I would only invite my family and a few of daughter's friends. I don't know any of stepson's friends. And I know he would like his mom to be included too.

I've been overruled

My husband gave the green light to our 17 year old son to spend the weekend away with his 14 year old girlfriend and her family. Now they are going to expect the same whenever they ask.

Everyone knows how I feel, or maybe they're clueless. I guess I must be the proverbial evil stepmother. Oh excuse me I have to run, the small child I lured into my house with candy is almost through baking.
