Would you talk to your Father this way!

So afer a very difficult week dealing with skids during my MIL's death and subsequent funeral etc. SD sends her Dad and her FIL a message that says her husband said they (Dad & FIL) gave him a look of "you'd better put that little woman in her place." She then told them that those types of comments and looks were not welcome in her marriage. She also went on to say that her husband wanted and chose a strong, independent woman even if her Dad and FIL did not want a strong, independent woman as their wife. Does anyone else think this is a very rude and disresptful way to talk to your Dad and your FIL?

oh snap....I dont care how old I am I know that my butt would have a red mark on it for talking like that to anyone especially my dad.

Uh yeah mine too! I would never have dreamed of saying anything like this to my Dad and definitely not to my FIL if I had ever known him. I still can't believe her husband told HER that they gave him the look. Knowing her did he think she would do nothing or say nothing about it. Nice way to look like a manly-man to his own Dad and FIL - NOT!

I'm not sure what he thinks, he's way to passive with his kids behavior so he will prolly laught if off when I think it is way out of line myself. Yes, very inflated sense of herself!

Yeah I know I love that part the best! My thought was if I wasn't a STRONG wife how the heck could I have put up with her and her sibs abuse for 13 yrs now!

She's upset because her husband said they gave her a look?? What a crack pot! I'd have laughed my ass off over that one.

No they gave her husband the look but she's still a crackpot and it is definitely laughable the whole thing!

Next time she comes over, break out the ruffled apron and serve home-baked cookies. Be sure to be very quiet and reserved, just giggle everytime a man says anything. For added effect, massaging your dh feet out of nowhere. Don't forget to set up a web-cam so we can all enjoy on youtube.

LOL, OMG that is so not me and the mental picture of me doing that is cracking me up! Smile

They gave her husband a look that said he had better put that little woman in her place...........Wow! how did her husband know what that sort of look looked like. Guess he was feeling embarrassed by his strong independent wife's behaviour at the time and was a tad sensitive. I am laughing at the fact he told her that. Doesn't sound like he was being very supportive during the loss of one of her grandparents does it.

Never mind, you may not like your SD but she has bigger problems than you Smile I don't think her husband thinks too much of her either.

Yeah, I thought that was very telling that HE told her they gave him the look. I thought spineless twit right away. I think you are right that she has much bigger problems in her future. Besides he's husband no. 3 and she's not yet 35.

Yes, I thought it was very bad timing on her part but both his daughters had to make the occasion about them - they always do. No worries, I have been done with them for awhile. I am much happier and peaceful now that I just laugh at every frickin stupid stunt they pull. I know it will never end and no sad or difficult situation will ever be without drama from SDs.

Don't forget controlling as that is there number one favorite thing! As long as they control their husbands, parents, siblings, children etc. they are happy campers. It's when they can't control someone that their true vial, vulgar, disgusting selfs really shine through. But your description of both SD and her husband are true to a T!
