Disengaging Feels Weird
This is mostly a vent. I'm in my bedroom cruisng this site & getting some things done while SO & SD9 are hanging out in the living areas. I just cannot deal with her tonight. Since I posted last week about her meltdown & victory to have her dad sleep in her bed & the smug way she told me the antics have been off the charts.
She pitched a fit & laid a huge guilt trip on SO that my mom's 60th birthday celebration did not also involve her birthday celebration (her birthday is later this week). We had been planning on a separate lunch for her bday but after the whiny fit about "it's her birthday too" I didn't even want to celebrate her birthday. On top of all that she waffled back & forth on coming to our house because SO's parents were in town & sleeping in her bed. She asked if she could come to my mom's party & then go back to BM's house. Ummmm, no. And why is it even up to her where she sleeps on any given night?! The adults decided a schedule! For the life of me I cannot understand why this is even an option. Dad's night? Your a$$ is at Dad's.
So tonight she's all sing-song voice & "Aren't I adorable?" She does one thing SO asks her to do & thinks she won a medal. He was supposed to talk to her about where she's sleeping. It's almost bedtime. I'm eager to see how this goes.
So, I thought this would be more empowering. Maybe I'm just not over all the drama she caused over the weekend. Perhaps if I weren't still disgusted (not just with her behavior but with both parents not disciplining her) I'd feel more bada$$ & empowered for disengaging & taking some time to myself.
BM asked us to pick up some party supplies for this weekend for her bday party. That is squarely on SO's shoulders. I refuse to engage & make it all happen when her behavior continues to go unchecked.
I'm just so DONE. Anyone else ever feel like this?

Let her have her meltdowns
Her birthday is not just all about her, if she wants a party for her birthday at your place too darn bad it's not happening. This is a bm job. Not yours or dh's
