Unfuckingbelievable-

Last night I was at the high school football game. BabyVoice is a freshman in the band. I didn't want to go, but DH wanted me to go, so I agreed to go.

I went home from work and changed my clothes.
Met DH at the field.

His parents were there.
I walked up to the row they're sitting in. "Hi guys!"

Crickets. ASSholes didn't say one word to me.

I was going to address it right then and there but didn't want to make a scene. They left at half time, after the band was done.

I turned to DH and said, "they've always been cold and standoffish, but that was fucking rude."

He agreed and said he was super pissed and was going to talk to his mom - she's the one who drives that bus.

I replied, "you may want to remind her that if not for me, she would have ZERO access to her grandchildren and she should remember that."

Effing effers.

StepAside said she had a patent in the works for a crockpot meant for crazy MIL's. We might be able to get her a few more investors if you're on board...

This invention slowly cooked the meanness out of whatever was put in, as I recall... Would have to be very large, possibly bathtub or jacuzzi size. My question is should you put it on low or high?

Ah, so ASS has been telling them some tales. But instead of talking to you about it or at least talking to their son and getting the other side, they just want to act like asses. Okay.

Really nice of you to go to the event for the family's sake. Ridiculous of inlaws to be so rude! Keep your head held high!

I would have been tempted to say it again much louder. Older people sometimes can't hear well. }:)

I LOVE that! And as an older person myself I am not the least bit offended by it. One doesn't get a pass to be rude because of age.

Good, I'm glad as I thought I might have needed to add a disclaimer. My hearing is worse than a lot of the older population I work with daily.

You need to learn to say it again REALLY LOUD. So they'll look like morons to everyone sitting around them if they don't answer.

You know me, SA. I didn't squirm. I simply looked at my husband and said, "oh, that's nice" in a voice that was intended for his ears only but was probably louder than that Smile

She won't get the chance to be rude to me again. I won't ever put myself anywhere near her - EVER.

i probably would have laughed right then and said "rude asses."

they didn't used to be. They are naturally standoffish, but they weren't that way to me.

Once I started refusing to stay with ASS when DH had to go out of town, they got mad. They thought that I was inconveniencing them because they had to come and stay with the skids. MIL thought that my checking into a hotel was a waste of money and why couldn't I just understand that ASS was just kidding when he called the police and CPS to tell them that I abused him.

I stayed away from them for the most part once that happened. On the few occasions that we were together, I was civil but reserved. I can only ASSume that ASS fed them a line of bullshit and they believed it.
