SD wearing my clothes and saying their hers

SD18 comes downstairs for dinner in my shorts. I told her to take my shorts off and she swears up and down their hers and we have similar shorts. We do but mines are a size smaller than hers and they have a side pocket so I know my shorts. She agreed to take them off after dinner. After dinner she takes of to her night class. I texted her if my shorts aren't in my hands by the end of the night I will be going in her room and picking out and outfit I like.

Why do SD's do that??? Mine did too before she out grew me and both my DH and I disliked my out fits after SD walked around in them with her nose stuck in the air. :sick:

One thing you can do, mark the tags or inside of a pocket with your initials. Don't warn her that you did either but confront her on the spot next time using your proof and they are to be removed immediately.

She probably knows they are your shorts and is trying to get away with wearing your shorts by pretending to think they are hers. Another example of these self-entitled skids. Possibly by showing her how ticked you are, you may be giving her the idea on how to get under your skin. I would get my shorts back, calmly tell her to be more careful next time, and drop it. Maybe she'll stop if she doesn't know it bothers you too much. If, however, it continues anyway, I would for sure be taking things from her closet!! And not even to wear, I'd just hide them so she can go crazy wondering where her stuff is, and IF you really did confiscate them Wink

My SD14 likes to help herself to my clothes as well. We only have them every other weekend, so I usually get a text saying oh I think I accidentally grabbed your shirt, or belt or whatever... she is quickly outgrowing my clothes so I am hopeful this is short lived because NOTHING ever comes back that mysteriously ends up in her backpack.

I'd go in her room and remove ALL of her favorite clothes. leave her 4-5 old items.

You could really plan this big time and go shop at garage sales, Goodwill and pick up the oldest most ragged stuff (none of the good stuff) and replace her clothes with those.

Then tell her you don't know what she is talking about - those ARE her clothes.
