Yestersday was a big day for my kid.

My son (the Skid, SS-23) had a milestone anniversary yesterday. Yesterday was the 5 year in service date of his USAF enlistment.

I am proud of him. He is doing great. He is plugging away at his AS degree from the CCAF, slower than his mom and I would like but he is getting there. He was recently promoted to E-5 (Staff Sgt), and is finishing up a 6mo deployment supporting a team of Generals on some task force. He is definately keeping his head in the game and doing it effectively.

He now has 364 more days remaining on his 6 year commitment. It currently sounds as if he will decide to stay in, re-enlist, and push for 20+. At least that is what I hope he will do.

Yep, yesterday was a big day for my kid.

Definitely a proud dad moment.

I'm glad you posted, he sounds like he's doing really good and he's happy. It's nice to hear there are productive, well off step children in this world.

Glad to hear he's thriving in the USAF and that you helped him become a successful member of society. Hopefully he does decide to make a career out of it and do the 20 plus years. He'll still be young when he retires and can do whatever he wants career wise then. Best thing I ever did was join the AIr Force at 19. I wish I would have stayed in for the 20 years but once I got married, I decided to get out after 8 years. I was coming up for a 12 month solo deployment and being newly married I wanted to be with him. I'm happy with the way things turned out but sometimes regret getting out when I did. I really missed wearing the uniform and being a part of of the armed forces.

Glad to hear that he was able to overcome the Spermclan influence and make something of himself! He never could have done it without you and your wife! Good for him!!
