O/T - My WiFi card crapped out.
That first happened about 10 days ago. It took me a day+ plus of CPR to get it working again. That only lasted about 3 days then it gave up the ghost completely.
I bought the laptop new in 2019 so rather than get a new WiFi card I got a new machine.
I picked up a new one this AM and spent several hours getting it started up, all of the updates done, and back on line. I had a couple of Teams interviews and had to function online with just my phone until today.
So, learning the key spacing , etc, on a different size and brand of laptop has commenced.

I both love and hate getting
I both love and hate getting new iPads, laptops, desktops. I rarely use my laptop, so if I'm using it in the dark--or even a room that is not well-lit--I still cannot hit some of the keys correctly. Here's to many years of use!
I just had Windows 11 shoved
I just had Windows 11 shoved down my throat. IT was against it because there are issues and I'm one of the lucky people who got totally hosed. 17 hours of tech support later, I'm finally able to do all of my jobs. Evil Aniki is meanly pleased that one issue was escalated to the Grand Poobah of IT who was forced to create a workaround. If I have to suffer with this craptastic "up" grade, it's only fair that there is genuine proof what a PITA this is.
Oh yes. The Microsoft model.
Sell a crap product that you know is a crap product and then patch the crap out of it until it permiates the market. Once you get it working, replace with another crap product.
Lather, rinse, repeat.
Go with Apple
Try cost nore but are better
Every Apple product I have ever owned has just worked.
However, when it comes to computers, PC architecture is my preference. I have been programming and projecting with PCs for decades.
Maybe next time I will go with an Apple laptop.
You won't regret an Apple laptop, Rags!
I have a newish iMac and a 2024 MacBook Pro that I scarcely use as my 10 y/o MacBook Pro is still tickety-booing along; appears to be indestructible. Going back to PCs is unthinkable!
Apple products (also have an iPhone and an iPad), IMHO, are worth the extra price; easy to use and easy to fix.
