Off Topic just need opinions about a job offer

So I took a job at a company that I wasn't that keen on but being 26 weeks pregnant and not hearing anything back from any other company I thought why not.

Well I just got a call from the company I wanted to really work for and they offered me a job but the kicker is I'd have to start tomorrow!

I'm not sure what to do? Do I keep the job I took (I've only been here a week) or take the job I was just offered?

Are you going to want to quit the new job to go part-time after the baby? If yes, then stick with the job you don't care that much about. Better not to burn that bridge (the better company) in case you need it again.

If you plan on keeping working after the baby, then you may want to see about the new job - if they will give you the time off for the pregnancy, etc etc At this point, you have nothing to lose there.

For the job you are in now... You took the job and didn't tell them you were pregnant. Now you want to quit with no notice. What kind of employee record are you going for? Do you care? Do you know what this makes you look like? And again, do you care?

for the proverbial offer I could not refuse and I too had to start immediately.

In this case if the company and job are what you really are looking for in an employment opportunity then yes go ahead and take the new job.

Since you have only been there a week you will not have to put the current company on your resume and you will not show a gap that will have to be explained.

Congratulations, good luck and best regards,

much in training you. My thought is if you truly are excited about going to the other company, go for it. Ordinairly, I would not recommend leaving any job without notice, but there are always exceptions.

but honestly I'm thinking in longer term picture here. If I do have to work full-time which company would be the bettr option.

I've only worked for 2 companies in my life and they were both for a number of years.

What did you decide to do?

that I had been waiting for them to make an offer but when they didn't come up with one even after I told them another company had made an offer that I took the other job.

They offered me a better pacakge (not what I was fishing) and told me to take the weekend and think about it.

Still not sure what the best option is for me. The company I'm with currently I'm jsut a little frustrated with becasue they've got me coevering for the receptionist (the joys of being an office manager) because she went on vacation so I really haven't been able to get anything accomplished when it comes to my position so I'm just a little frustrated and I don't want to make a rash decision because of that.
