Sd23 sent a text to h enquiring why his family didn't send gs5 a birthday gift or cards 3 days ago. Good grief, could you be any more ridiculous????
She was crying saying GS needed winter clothes, books and toys and didn't get any of that for his bday.
Ok clothes are a NEED she is responsible for and toys and books are HER WANTS.
I made this suggestion to h... Tell her LJC will buy GS clothes for winter, but if I do SD23 has to forgo her own Xmas gift from us bc we just spent over $100 on GS's bday present.
She should jump on that if it truely is a NEED...
Who asks for gifts???? She is so damn rude I can't stand it.

How rude, but how unsurprising. It truly never ends does it?

She has money for ciggies and beer...She only works 20 hours a week and I doubt she will do any more than that.
How do you break the mentality that everyone owes her a living...? I just can't understand this girl.

Yeah, I was just going to say... bet SD has winter clothes and a winter coat and money for unnecessary bull shit. And does she not have a Salvation Army or something near her?? Hell, I HAVE a good paying job, and I am not above checking thrift stores or Ebay for things for BS4. Granted, it was GS birthday, but if GS didn't get all the things that SD was hoping for then um, hello???? You are the mother, your responsibility!! Geesh

Yea - truly I am, but I also in good conscious can't let GS5 go without winter clothes.
If it were for her I would have said NO outright, but it's for the GS. Do you think this is illogical Rising?

I think she will find a way to get him the things he needs when people stop jumping to her rescue and she has no other choice. I get that you want to do it for GS but that is still enabling her. Don't let her use him like that.

Actually...I just texted H and told him ^^^^^^^ this. I think you're right, I doubt GS will go without, it's an excuse on her part. I got to thinking SD23 got GS a Wii for his B-day, that's a toy, and expensive toy. They could sell that for clothes, right?

LOL - well that's a story...
She narrowed it down between 2 guys when she was 18. Picked the wrong one-nite-stand first, and his DNA didn't match.
So GS's father turned out to be the boy she lived with when she was 14 and he is basically a sperm donor. He evades CS all the time.
However I did notice Sperm donor's family (who my H hates with a purple passion) was at Gs's b-day party, and they gave him toys. Also sperm donor's new son was at Gs's B-day party.
Gs4 was made to call flavor of the week not 3 months ago "dad." Now his real dad and his half brother show up at his b-day party and he has never laid eyes on these people. How confusing to a little kid.

So you mean to say your sd bought her son5, a wii for his birthday when he NEEDS winter clothing?! :jawdrop: WTF?
Your dh needs to ring his grown daughter and tell her how damn rude she is for demanding other people fund her childs needs, when shes shelling out hundreds on unnecessary computers for her young child while ignoring the essential necessities! Its clear she expected other people to fulfil this obligation while she is fun mother. He also needs to tell her if she is that desperate she should stop drinking and smoking ffs. Sorry but what a dumb cow.

Reminds me of an ex friend, who tearfully told a group of mutual girlfriends, that she didnt know how she would be able to afford winter clothing for her young dd. This came after her discussion on what xmas toys she had purchased for her dd, at $60-70 a pop, and after a close friend of mine had generously given her a car full of used clothes and toys which her own dd had outgrown (she didnt even thank my friend, hence why she is now an ex mate of mine). Same girl, turned her nose up at the suggestions she
Take the toys back, try some good charity shops, because no doubt she hoped one of us smucks would bail her out. My best mate found out the expensive stroller (think $450-500) she gave this girl as a gift while she was pregnant had been stored in her shed and was now wrecked with damp/rust, and she mentioned it in passing like it was nothing. As it wasnt anything to her, as she didnt have to buy it! Urgh. Another lovely example of a human being.

You just described sd23 to a tee! I'm glad we decided not to help with this. She will figure it out without us helping. She needs to get her priorities straight
