SD11's violence and her reasoning. OMFG

Great! I swear it's like dealing with BM. I never thought in a million years I would hear things like that. Of course, I must be proved wrong.

Thursday SD got in trouble at school. The story we got from SD is "I was running my mile in P.E and the 3rd graders were teasing me because I had to walk it. I got tired of the brats teasing me so I called them idiots. P.E teacher made me say sorry." END OF STORY!

Friday- I pick up SD11. She tells me the principal will be calling us....?? I call DH. He calls the principal. SD11 will not be allowed recess all this week and will have to take some type of bullying class as well as elementary detention.
The story DH got from the principal goes something like this;
SD11 was running her mile in P.E and had to walk. The 3rd graders were cheering on the 5th graders. SD got irritated at being cheered on and told the 3rd graders to shut up. When SD came back by the 3rd graders SD called them idiots and to shut up. One of the 3rd graders said "Hey. thats not nice, don't call us that!" SD said shut up, lost control and slammed a little 3rd grader down to the ground. Principal said SD confessed and said "I did it because I'm angry at my mom and I'm in counseling"

I guess the P.E teacher didn't witness it, but another adult on the grounds did, as well has SD11's class and the whole 3rd grade class.

Principal told DH that her behavior is grounds for suspension, but because this is the first incident she will not suspend SD. DH was livid. DH gets home and is chewing her ass. SD turns on the water works and tells DH that the principal is lying. That she never touched the 3rd grader. But then tells DH and I that she pushed her to the ground because the 3rd grader hit her first..But this is not the story we got Thursday or in the beginning. DH is trying to get the whole story out of SD and it just keeps changing. Then SD starts saying that she is being bullied and it started that day. That she has only been bullied one day and she is angry. I asked SD who was bullying her and what they were doing/saying. SD just said that she feels like she is being bullied because people keep questioning her. I told her that is different from being bullied. Then she says that she lost control because shes angry at BM and that BM does it too(gets angry and has violent outbursts)

SD is grounded.
DH said that SD reminded him of BM because of how quickly she could cry and then stop and then make up a different story and just being very manipulative. DH said that SD refuses to take responsibility for her actions and tries to blame everyone else for her actions. Just like BM has done her entire life.

SD is only 11 years old. She is already fighting and causing problems with peers and even younger children. Already! At 11! I can't even imagine her two years from now Sad

I have two skids just like that. Story after story after story....and nothing they do is ever their fault. Its everyone around them and they are innocent little victims. They never admit blame in any thing.

"SD just said that she feels like she is being bullied because people keep questioning her." it's amazing how defensive people get when they get called out for something...

with kids, a 'keyphrase' can be 'u're bullying me'. with bio-parents, the keyphrase is 'u hate my kid'.

OP- i'm sorry ur SD is going thru this - that's such a rough confusing age, but at least she has you and DH as strong guardrails

I think the trouble with this situation is that it's affected by the 'people believe what they want to' principal. It's horrible to think your child is a bully, so when they try to turn it around and claim THEY are being bullied you kind of want to believe it, and it introduces that little element of doubt that makes it hard to know how to handle it. However the constant changes of story are suspicious, if she was really being bullied she might not want to admit it to start with, but once she was in trouble you would think she would have one genuine story about what happened.
