I saw that on TV the other day. INSANE! Why would anyone buy this for their kid????

I think breastfeeding is preferable, and girls should be educated about it, for sure. The fake bra thing is about 2 steps too far for me.

I thought it was cute that my girls would pretend to "nurse" their dollies when I brought home the baby last spring. They tossed a little blankie over thier shoulders and rocked their babies, but didn't really have much of a concept of nursing or what it meant. They never really made the connection between milk and nipples. And at 8,7, and 3.5, I'm cool with that.

They asked a few times if we were going to give a baby a bottle, and I sort of explained it, but they look at their own bodies and can't really fathom being full of milk or a baby getting any milk from there. I don't think they're ready for all the facts yet.

Very odd! I wouldn't find it odd for a little girl to pretend to nurse her doll but I agree fake breasts/nipples toy is so unnecessary and too bizarre.

Did you actually look at the video?

It is nothing like the impression given in the OP. When I read the description I thought 'yuk' but after looking at the video I think it's a very positive thing.

It's certainly a million miles better than teaching girls right off the bat that it's normal to feed babies with bottle.

it would be nice if they would let lil girls be lil girls for a few years at least.

How is letting them believe that it's normal to feed your baby cow milk with chemicals through a bottle letting them be 'lil girls'.

I honestly don't see the difference between letting a little girl pretend to feed a baby with a bottle or pretend breastfeed.

Why did it take so long for this doll to come into existence? lol

As for little girls having to worry about body parts they don't have yet... why are they worrying about babies that they don't have yet either?

Sorry, but I am strongly PRO breastfeeding and I think that breasts have gotten a bad reputation in today's modern culture. This doll sends the right message, if you ask me.

My DD is always putting her babies up to her breast - which is funny because I hardly produced any milk and this is after trying 3 different breast pumps - including renting one from the hospital - I did the best I could for 2 months but had to supplement a lot with formula - I even went so far as when she was first born to clip a bottle of formula to my shirt and then tape a small tube to my nipple so that she could learn the sucking (this about drove me crazy the first 2 weeks because I was so tired and it is hard to tape a tube to your nipple while holding a screaming baby at 3AM) - I was so distressed that I could not breast feed and so stressed I called my sister and she said just let it go not everyone is made for breast feeding and you are getting so stressed you will not be able to produce milk - so I switched to formula in the regular bottle and then hubby would take from bedtime until 1 am and after I would take feeding her from 1 till the morning - he had to get up to work. I will say he told me that he loved getting up with her early and that those times with her were so great.

So while I think that it is great if you can breastfeed it did make me feel horrible that I couldn't - and I have big boobs so I thought there would be no problem - lol Even when I stopped the little breastfeeding that I was doing I felt no pain in my boobs and everyone tell me how painful that is - it did not hurt at all - I just could not produce milk - one day I tried every 1/2 hour and by the end of the day I had 1 1/2 ounces that its -

I don't think that little girls need a bra to put on that simulates breastfeeding they do it on their own - it cracks me up to watch my daughter but when she sees my nipples she asked what they are for and I said to feed you so that is what she does with babies she feeds them!

I don't think this is about the pro's and cons of breast feeding......

This toy is strange. I would not buy it. If a little girls wants to pretend to breastfeed- good for her, I don't think you need to buy fake bra/boobies for that to happen. WEIRD!
