Midnight Snacking

BettyRay's picture

Just a warning, my petty is real today.

DH and I are both getting over colds.  We went grocery shopping for the week on Sunday. DH made Sunday dinner early so SS21 could eat before he went to school to work on a lab.

SS21 got home after we went to bed Sunday night.

Monday morning DH opens the fridge to get the lunch meat to make his sandwich and it's gone, nothing left. We bought almost 2 lbs. of lunch meat Sunday.

I text SS21 when I got to work and ask him to pick up lunch meat on his way home from school Monday night.

SS21 texted back: "if I leave school before the store closes, yes."

I texted SS21 back:"Okay but there are stores, like Walmart that are open 24-hours and sell groceries."

He got home after we went to bed last night.

No lunch meat for HD again this morning.

So I walked to the store on my lunch hour and bought lunch meat.

I want SS21 out.

242 days until graduation.

Oh no I completely understand and support you on this, we actually have a locking knob on our beddroom door and hide food in there from SD20, she will do the same thing and doesn't care who it was intended for.

You're not being petty this is just a case of SS being inconsiderate. I'm sitting here wondering how many sandwiches he made that 2 pounds of lunch meat are gone in a matter of a day............

Sounds like your H is going to have to put his foot in his @ss and let him know to be considerate because he's not living alone.

Bet you he didn't make sandwiches.  Bet he, just as my lazy greedy SS does, just ate it straight from the package.  Far too much effort to make a sandwich or actual proper meal.  Better to be an inconsiderate pig.  Skid motto.

He never makes a sandwich.  Which is why there is grease on the fridge handle and greasy fingerprints on the water pitcher in the fridge.

Agree! What is the deal with that? And my formerSS would eat ALL of random stuff (think an entire jar of banana peppers) and an entire pack of Hawiian bread.

DH will just bitch about it to me.  I will tell DH I don't want to hear about it and talk to SS21.

"SS21, I think you forgot to get the lunch meat at the store last night.  You owe me $7.50 for the lunch meat I bought to replace the WHOLE PACKAGE you ate.  I expect reimbursement tonight -- you know, because ATM's are open 24/7."

Stop making life easy for DH when his son messes up and is effects his dad.  Let dear old daddy feel the burn of his son's lack of respect for the adults in the house.  You make sure you have what you need and let the boys fight it out.
