SS19 living with us again, shoot me now please!

Ugh, what a hassle this is going to be.

SS19's lease was up about 2 months ago, and he couldn't afford to renew it. Since then he's been...giving his sister, SD21, rent money to stay at her place but hasn't been staying there because she's a slob and her apartment stinks. So he's been crashing with different friends.

SD21 just moved to a new place and they have very strict guest policies so SS19 can't stay with long term now. And he can't afford his own place, so guess where he is...yep back at our house. I'm already dreading it...

He's been working at McDonald's, but just got a job at Walmart as a cashier. So starting tonight he'll be working 10pm-7am at Walmart (Mon-Thurs), and working McD's whenever around those hours for the next 2 weeks.

Original plan was he was supposed to stay with his sister for 2 weeks (what the guest policy at the new place allows) while he was looking for his own place. But SD was being all weird about giving SS a key, so if he got there after they were all in bed, the door was locked and he couldn't get in, so he had been crashing at SD's old place...which has no furniture, just crashing on the concrete floor.

Biggest problem is his schedule conflicting with mine. I work 7am-4pm and DD10 is still on summer break. So SS19 getting off work at 7am, getting home about 8am (since he still has no driver's license or car, and is riding his bike everywhere, would take him at least an hour to get home) and then he'll need to sleep.

His and his dad's original plan was for him to sleep on the couch. This is definitely not my preferred idea. SS is still not in to much personal hygiene. Last night he came home from working at McDonald's and was going to sleep on the couch in his work clothes. *gag* I'm not having my couch smell like grease, fries and burgers! He got all huffy at me for telling him to go change his clothes...I didn't even have the energy to tell him to go take a shower before sleeping on the couch (he won't pull the hide-a-bed out because he "doesn't like it"). TOUGH!

When he moved out, I took over his/the spare room as my office (had my computer desk in our bedroom before). There is still a bed in here but obviously he won't get much sleep in here if I'm working/on the phone. If he sleeps on the couch, DD will have to tiptoe around and be super quiet until 1 or later in the afternoon, plus keeping the dogs quiet/in the office with me or outside all day. If he takes over the office, that means I move my desk out again (not happening, it's too big/bulky to move back in to our room for 6 months, then move back in to the office) or get another desk to put in the living room.

This morning, he gets up and says he's going to breakfast/lunch with a friend. How about you pay your dad the $30 that was due July 1st for your phone bill, if you have money to go out to eat?!?

I sure hope he saves money quick, cuz it's only been a day and I'm ready to freak out, or move out for 6 months!

Who says people have to be quiet while he's sleeping on the couch. or dogs.

Homeless beggars do not get to dictate how others who are doing him a favor act.

DH says...or at least that's what he suggested but we haven't had a real sit down talk about it like I was promised BEFORE SS moved in. This is just what I was informed of yesterday/last night. /rollseyes

We WILL be having a sit down with SS tonight, and talking about finances and saving money, not just blowing his checks since he has free room/board right now!

Carry on with your life. When FDH is "too tired" (lazy) to make it to our bedroom before he crashes for the night (I don't like him laying in our bed without a shower), we do not tiptoe around the house until he is up. Mostly he sleeps through it, if he wakes up and even looks at me sideways I let him know that he is the one in the way.

And those are just some of the reasons why my dh's kid will NEVER be allowed to live with us! Smile
