Well, it's over
Was new to this site in search of answers to dealing with adult step children. LOTS of great advise. Even as one recent post I read, how many suggest we RUN...run like the wind, there is still a part of us that wants it to work as we love the men.

Update ... For those who are interested ...
Last night, SO and I were talking and he said in our conversation, that he needs someone to "push" him with helping to discipline his kid. He does understand that his kid does need it ... He has no discipline at SO's parents place (which is where he goes Thursday afternoons and Fridays (when SO works)), from what we can gather, he has no discipline when he's with BM/on BM's time.
He keeps saying he is greatful that I've helped him with a few things, namely, getting him to sleep in his own room (which is what WE got him to do when we first got together).
Vacation Curve Ball
Sorry, it's been a while since I've posted, but things have been going pretty well since I've totally disengaged. This one has just thrown me for a loop...

OMG who knew!!
I can see into the future! :jawdrop: SS1 arrested and on the 10pm news. BM new what he was doing and allowed him to use her house. He was the only one arrested???? WTF She should so have been parked in that back seat to. He is 3 weeks from 18th birthday and may be charged as adult. If that happens he is looking at 25 to life. When I first meet SS1 he wanted to go to harvard. I so just want to beat the holy SSSS out of BM for screwing up her kids so bad just to get back at BF. I do hope there is a VERY special place for her in hell.

SD15‘s Report Card - She Failed Five Classes, Even Art!
SD15 can’t even pass an art class. She was taking six classes, failed five of them and only passed PE (amazing!)
It’s no wonder, since she absolutely refuses to do anything at school. She won’t do homework, doesn’t even both to do tests or quizzes or turn in assignments. I can’t believe how ridiculously easy it is to just scrape by these days in high school with binder checks and ability to retake tests and redo homework until its 100% correct. But no, SD doesn’t bother. School is beneath her.
YAY!!!
Lets all dance!!
SS passed the peepee test and is officially sworn in!! I can go camping now!! We tried one time while SS lived with us and it did not turn out well at all. So we have just been waiting until he was safely in the military. Now is that day!!!!! I think I may leave early, grab the hubby and the RV and go play on a lake somewhere near by. (If we can find one with water!!)
Don’t have to worry about SS not coming home, don’t have to worry about him bringing a nasty ho in my house. Don’t have to worry about his little gangsta friends.

Why does my anxiety soar on skid days??
Whenever it is our day to get SD back, I get depressed and extremely anxious. Even sick to my stomach over it. It isn't that she is soooo bad. She is annoying at times because she wants to play with me and her Daddy 24/7 but other than that she really isn't a bad kid. Why do I always feel this way though???? UGH! And if the exchange involves seeing BM..forget about it.
How much involvement should I expect in my new DH's previous life?
I have been married for 1 month but we have been together for 3 years. I feel like I'm just getting to know him in some ways.
Census Indicates Single Dad Population BOOMING!!
http://www.fathersandfamilies.org/?p=17285
Which by inference, means there are more guilty daddies with children out there looking for a "good woman" to provide them:
1. childcare
2. maid/laundress service
3. chef services
4. financial support for previously enjoyed family
5. "fringe benefits"
But of course, with ZERO say as to what goes on re: their previously enjoyed family.
Single women. . .RUN!!!!
