Oh the irony!

BS11 wanted to earn a few bucks and asked for some chores to do around the house this weekend.

DH tasked him with cleaning the rims on my car and his van. BS did a GREAT job! It was super hot outside Saturday and we had did a Mud Run earlier in the day and I thought for sure that BS would have half assed it. BUT he did a great job.

Then I took him to my mom's house yesterday and he helped her clean out her car and a closet and take stuff to the donation box and sweep out her car.

So DH makes some comment about important it is that BS is asking for chores to earn money, that he needs to earn his money, he needs to learn about hard work, etc.

Side note- BS has regular chores that he does because he lives in the house too and that is life. He has other money earning chores such as pick up sticks or cleaning the tires, etc.

So DH is going on and on about this and I'm thinking- Oh the irony DH- remember when YSD texted you 3 times this summer asking for money for vacation and twice for the water park. Ya know your 17 year old daughter who is old enough to have a job and earn her own money. Who NEVER calls you unless she wants something or SEES you unless you are giving her money or taking her somewhere to spend money on her....

Really DH... you should have this same talk with your 17 year old.

I did say all smart ass "I know it's great for us to teach BS these things so he won't be 17 years old capable of a summer job but still calling Daaaddddyyyy when he wants money." Then I gave him the look.

He's all about SS working hard (which he does) but when it comes to his girls it's like he is incapable of thinking the same thing. And 2/3 of them have kids. Not sure what it is about some dads and daughters.
