Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

One of my top 5 Best Days
One of my top 5 Best Days Ever was the day that both skids were REMOVED from my cell phone account, never to be added again.
I was just thinking yesterday, it has been so nice to just have the same ol' bill every month, no surprises, no lost phones, no broken phones, no entitled monsters demanding new phones.
The first time SD moved out of our house, she tried to sell her phone that was on my plan. I think she actually did (although she told DH she lost it) but when the person she sold it to, went to activate it about 5 hours away from us, Verizon confiscated it and called me. They sent it to me (where after looking in the phone DH and I saw her Craigslist ad and multiple texts from people about selling the phone, so of course she was lying about the "I lost it" crap) and I sold it the next week and cancelled her damn line. Bet the person that SD sold the phone to was pissed, as they should have been. I hope they made her life hell trying to get their money back. Stupid snot.
The good thing was that she
The good thing was that she was never on my plan. The phone only worked on Wi-Fi...it didn't have service. I would NEVER have her on my plan. She just wanted it to text and get on Instagram and Facebook. Too bad. I never really wanted to let her use it for that because the last one I let her borrow she broke. She's extremely careless...

I wish I had! It was truly priceless! She said, "Oh my god! I had all my pictures and music on that phone! SHE sold it with all that on it?" I had erased the phone months before I sold it. DH told her that all the pictures and music should be on her Icloud. Well...no it's not because that phone was hooked to MY Icloud and because she had it protected with a password I couldn't get into it. So I just erased it! }:)
