Ok I don't have an update for the kid but my son is very fearful and I don't know what will happen legally. It has been ruled an accident but if anyone can give me some insight to the law and what can happen to my son.

I am hoping and praying that this little boy is ok I can't imagine this happening to my child especially at his age and yes he is 6 that was confirmed. The news stations are calling the police like crazy.

On the legal side, your son might be charged. It really depends on the state you live in. The child's parents can decide whether or not to press charges.

Millions of (((HUGS))) and prayers coming your and your son's way, and also going to the little boy and his family too.

What was the circumstances? My little sister ran across a busy street with her friend when they were about 10 and my sister got hit by a car, which broke her leg. Nothing happened to the teenage driver as the driver was not at fault at all. Of course no ticket or anything was given to my sister because she was just a kid.

If they said it was an "accident", that means your son had no fault at all? Did the kid run into the street? If so, nothing will happen to your son.

Thinking very good thoughts for all involved, I really hope the little boy will be okay. Please let us know when you find out any updates.

I'm not a lawyer but something similar happened to a cousin when he was 16. Unfortunately, the person died as a result of my cousin missing a stop sign and hitting the other person. His license was revoked for a period of time (5 years maybe). The family of the victim sued the counsin for civil damages but the insurance company settled. No criminal charges were filed.

If it was ruled an accident there shouldn't be criminal charges. You should notify the insurance company right away so they can investigate and retain a lawyer on your / your son's behalf. Don't speak to any news people or say anything to anyone that could be miscontrued.

Again, I'm not a lawyer but I'd suggest reaching out to one if you know one to get advice.

No lawyer here, but I think that unless he was "on something", the worst case would be involuntary manslaughter, if he was driving too fast, reckless, not stopping etc. Hopefully he did not run away. Was this kid alone? Did a parent let him run out in the middle of the road?

I am so sorry for all involved here.

Thank you everyone. I still don't have any word on the boy no one is talking to me but the news and I don;t want to talk to them!

I am working on getting him into a councilor. Poor kid has been crying all day and is still very upset. It's more that hit the kid.

There was a 13 yr old that was giving the 6 a piggy back ride and he them both which nis how the 6 yr hit the windshield. Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad Sad

I googled it and possibly found the story. It said the 6 year old is in stable condition. It says the police don't think tickets or citations will be issued. 13 y.o. was released from hosp. If that's the same, looks like everything is ok!!

I'm sorry purple. I didn't see this post until now. I'm glad you found it. How is your son doing? (I didn't post the link on here for your privacy)
