Extra job ...

So I am having some empty nest syndrome! I do get to see my grandbaby once a week but it is still weird to not have anyone living with us. (Even though it has been a few years. lol)

I am kind of in a rut and looking for things to fill up my time. I already garden but was thinking about maybe reselling on Amazon and Ebay. Figure I can make a little $$ while filling up my time. Lol.

Does anyone here do that part time? Full time? Is it difficult? Can you really make any money doing it? Are taxes difficult to navigate? Is it difficult to find deals good enough to make a profit? It seems like it would be pretty easy to do a little part time selling but I could be totally wrong. lol

You can definitely make some money if you have the time to put in it. My exH used to work for a company that did estate sales so he would "pick" things that I would in turn sell on ebay. So some of the things that I made big bucks on were a Beetles concert ticket (he paid $10.00) for it and I sold it on Ebay for over 100.00. He bought a whole box of old Playboy magazines (Marilyn Monroe etc) for $20.00 and I made over $700.00 selling the ones in really good condition on EBay. He bought a set of old Pyrex nesting bowls for $10.00 and I sold them for $75.00 on Ebay. There was lots of other stuff too, but if you have the time to "pick" things and then list them and ship them it could be a good little side business. I just can't be bothered now because I work full time, have horses to take care of, an 8 year old that plays every sport imaginable, I serve on two different boards that requires monthly meetings, I try to get to the gym often and *gasp* every once in a great while, I just like to do NOTHING! Wink

Ever watch that show American Pickers? Or Storage Wars? You can get some good ideas from them and I'd also just take some time going through Ebay and seeing what's hot.

Yea...I am still amazed that Pyrex is SO popular! And I am surprised you have time to breathe much less anything else! lol

The last time that I sold regularly on eBay was a long time ago. Mid-2000's -- settling oddities of my brother's estate, equestrian equipment, odd glassware etc. Used PayPal.

Just heard last week that eBay & PayPal have separated. Contract issues. I think it's more likely due to more sophisticated fraud issues.

Have not had time to track that rumor down. If you find out,pls let me know.

Also have sold on Nextdoor & Craigslist with varying results.

Good luck & I'm open for a side job, as well.

Indi Im ready too. Kinda bored with no kids around. And I have not heard that about ebay and paypal yet!! Seems like that would cause major issues.

Yup, that's why I'm tossing it your way. PayPal made it easy. In fact, I just used it to get payment from a client.

So, solve the safe financial pathway for selling online & I think you'll be good.

Oh you really want my ideas on how to stay busy and make money..... I've got a couple lol...

1. Hooking, it's tax free and only take cash, you can even go dominatrix... (just joking Willow)

Why not start baking, choc chip cookies, pastries, nutella cookies and sell it, or home made bread, biscotti etc.... surely you have things like saturday markets you can sell it at..... and no one needs to know what your profit is Wink

go into making jewelry, this you can also sell on Etsy, or cloths even,

do small party planning events for toddlers....

There's so many things you can do to keep busy.....

plant a herb garden, sell it fresh or dried..
