How did you determine from my statement that this is "acceptable" to me? You are just trying to start trouble, you're no different than the bullies in this video. Got it.

WalkOnBy's picture

trust me, the children of the Grosse Pointe nannies are likely at this school...they certainly don't go to school in the city.

Yet one more example of you talking about that which you know nothing.

This is not just kids being kids. This also doesn't include the dozens (and growing by the minute) of reports and screenshots in my FB feed of women having their breasts grabbed on public transit, anyone that looks not white having racial slurs screamed at them, the surge in hotline calls from the LGBTQ community, people waking up to find racist garbage spray painted on their cars, notes left on windshields saying "Can't wait until your marriage" is overturned by a real president. Gay families = burn in hell" " with of course a godbless hashtag for good measure.

Blowing off hate speech as "kids are brats and bullies" is BS. This is not some little isolated incident to shrug at and ignore.

FieryEscape's picture

So nothing like tha happened before Trump was elected ?

Get a grip on reality. Unfortunately there are bad people , always has been and always will be. They do and say bad things no matter who the president is.

Aeron's picture

How am I lacking reality? I said nothing about it never having happened before. But all articles listed either include Trump's name in the vandalism or was invoked by the perpetrators. Of course these kind of things have been done before. And now the kind of people who commit these acts have been validated - millions of people voted for the man who stood up and spouted the racist, sexist garbage himself. That's like saying Hitler had nothing to do with Jewish people being murdered because well, after all, it's not like they'd never been persecuted or murdered before.

WOB presented an article of what has begun since the election. I added more data. Not sure where the lack of reality comes in for you.

FieryEscape's picture

Some stupid kids being morons does not signal the beginning of the end. Kids always have and always will do stupid things. Half the time they dont even understand the implications of what they do and say. They do it to be funny or for the shock value. Bullies have been around for a very long time. It's wrong and they should be punished.

You can't blame Trump for everything. HRC supporters seems to whole heartedly believe that the 59 million people who voted for Trump are racist scumbags who want to destroy the USA.

WalkOnBy's picture

yeah, because middle school kids are so completely engaged in politics.

Tripping a kid in the hallway is a "stupid thing." This is not.

WalkOnBy's picture

What renewal said.

If you voted for him, you may not be a xeonphobic racist, but you sure as HELL support one.

FieryEscape's picture

Kids are good to to do stupid things and be bullies...this is nothing new and if course, it is wrong.

What about all the ADULTS misbehaving ? So all the protests ..I mean riots happening since the election are ok ? Damaging and burning property and attacking cops ? Burning our flag ? All ok ?

AlreadyGone's picture

"It's shocking. So the people who are angry that Trump is president are going to show how they would've made the world a better place had Hillary been president by destroying other people's property? There's zero logic to it. (I know, run on sentence)

They're just hate filled people and they certainly don't represent the democratic process."

That's exactly what they're going to do, and they're already doing far worse... like dragging an elderly man from his car in Chicago, and gang beating him for supposedly being a Trump supporter. }:) All while taking video and posting it to Youtube. All of this is just sickening!

WalkOnBy's picture

no one said those things are okay. Obviously, they are not.

WHY do people go there? They see something unpleasant and immediately bring up something else equally unpleasant and say "look at this. Is this okay?"

Makes me insane.

DaizyDuke's picture

Because acting like an asshole is fine as long as it benefits YOU. No mention of the pages of heinous tweets from people calling for "Trump's assassination", "someone please put a bullet in his head", "slit his throat" etc. because apparently, that's OK.... n the words of a wise woman (not even being sarcastic) "what you permit, you promote"

WalkOnBy's picture

I think the whole point of this post is that bad behavior is not okay.

Can't even imagine why you think anyone here said it IS okay???

DaizyDuke's picture

What I was trying to say was that the ONLY posts I have seen here since the election have been ones calling out Trump supporters for being awful human beings and implying that ONLY Trump supporters are acting badly, when there are awful human beings on BOTH sides of the coin.

Disneyfan's picture

If you didn't complain about the stuff Trump was saying about Muslim, blacks, Hispanics...then don't complain now about what is being said about his supporters.

You all were perfectly fine with the name calling and insults when they were directed at others. As a matter of fact, many cheered because he "wasn't afraid to speak his mind".
}:) }:)

Disneyfan's picture

EXACTLY

If you raise your kids in a home with racist, chances are they will develop racist views.
If you have your kids spend the holidays with racist relatives, chanced are they will develop racist views.

If you have your kids attending church, school, scouts, youth groups...with racist, chances are they will develop racist views.

Those kids are just showing the works what they learned from the family and friends they around day in and day out.

Cover1W's picture

Not unexpected.
Deplorable and should have been shut down by administrators immediately.

As for outright discrimination:
One of my friends told us that yesterday he received a cancellation notice for his Air BnB reservation. He and his partner were to go on vacation to FL soon. The owner told him she was cancelling his reservation due to his FaceBook posts. His FB is not offensive; it's clear he is gay and he supported Hillary.

He reported them to Air BnB, and promptly changed his reservations out of FL to HI.

I have another friend, who is Phillippina. She and her husband (of Mexican descent) are reconsidering their planned road trip across the US this next spring because they are afraid of ending up in the wrong place. I think this is a legitimate concern. And it's sad. And frightening.

WalkOnBy's picture

there have been racist assholes for decades, that's true. It's just that their leader didn't occupy the Oval Office.

Disneyfan's picture

Actually, they did become more bold thanks to Trump. He gave them the green light to come out of Shadows. Prior to this, they only discussed their views with like minded folks. Now they are letting all hang out.

Cover1W's picture

Exactly.

Trump has indirectly given permission for this, by example.

One of my co-workers friends, this afternoon, while she was getting gas, was approached by a man, who leaned into her face, called her a "N" word and told her to get back in her place.

I now know of three people, all very close, from credible sources who have experienced this. And maybe, maybe, in my life I've heard of it from those close to me a handful of times. Yes, I have friends/co-workers of all races. Always have.

It's horrifying what some junior high and high school aged kids have done in the past couple days. The reports of random women saying they have had their breasts and vayjay grabbed by men they do not know is equally horrifying! My hope is the newness of DJT as president elect will ware off and things settle down. I pray to all that is good about our country it will!

The DNC and the elitist democrats have gotten their just dessert (I'm a lifelong progressive and decades long supporter of Bernie). They have been way to busy listening to the polls and not the people for the past two decades. And raising vast amounts of money to get themselves elected and/or reelected. The DNC had a viable candidate that new how much the average American was hurting; Bernie. So what did the DNC do??? Stab him in the back and thwart his campaign. That really pissed millions of average Americans off! They are now organizing, protesting and revolting.

However, I think we have entered the next chapter in American history; "smiley/friendly fascism." At least for the next 4 years we will.

But, what I see that is good about the revolt on both parties is this; this country is not some politicians playground, it is the peoples country. Average Americans on both sides (hopefully we will have a valid 3rd party soon with equal representation in government) of the political equation are sick of how our country is run. I think the only way to really shake things up was to elect someone very divisive and would force us to redraw the political map. That's my hope anyway.

I keep thinking... It's always darkest before the dawn. I think we will start to see some light. Maybe not tomorrow, next month or next year. But we will.

WalkOnBy's picture

you had me until the "only way to shake things up was to elect someone very divisive would force us to redraw the political map"

I think the way to shake things up is to be aware, get involved, use your words and your vote.

ItsGrowingOld's picture

We tried the nice polite route by electing Obama. He was met with 8 years of obstruction unfortunately.

Fear can be a powerful motivator. A divisive president may unite enough people from all walks of life to ban together and demand more from our elected officials. This election was the first step IMHO. This underlying sense of angst has been brewing for decades from both sides of the isle

Lit'l Bit's picture

Rioting and protests have gone on for many years. People use any excuse to riot and protest. When will we all learn to agree to disagree and not fight over every. single. thing.

I am not happy about the president elect either and to be completely honest I wouldn't have been happy if Hillary was elected.

I am not going to go out and protest or riot. Both of them said, does and acts in ways which do not bring America up. We will always go 2 steps forward and 5 steps back if we continue to bitch and complain. Trump isn't even President yet and people are going dumb feck crazy.

The election happened, the people spoke. This is the way it has been done for hundreds of years. I have not officially heard that the elections were rigged or any chads were whatever.

We as a nation need to come together now. All this fussing and fighting is leaving us open for worse attacks. We need to be united otherwise we will be vulnerable to our true enemies.

WalkOnBy's picture

trust me, if it had gone the other way, you would have heard that it was rigged.

It's what he said all along, guessing he doesn't think that anymore. Now he thinks it is the greatest system in the world.
