This is BM's spring break....

tankh21's picture

This morning I got to thinking that since BM has the skids on odd-numbered years for spring break and she also will still have them this weekend. The CO states that DH has them even-numbered years and he picks them up on the day that they are dismissed from school and has to take them back to BM's at 6:00 pm the day before they return to school so that would include the weekend. So I told DH that I think that BM still has them this weekend even though it's the third weekend of the month. What do you guys think?

Yes, she more than likely does. However, you should get a make-up week if it takes away from one of your weekends.

Clearly the answer is yes. On even years he gets them from school dismissal till the day before. On odd years she gets them the exact same. Most orders clearly identify that holidays take priorty over "normal" visiation. We had to explain this to BM last year becuase she threw a fit that we got the kids Friday after school and it was "her" weekend. Nope

I’ve never heard of makeup weekends? SO’s order doesn’t have this.

That has been in my order with my bios since the begining (almost 10 years now). My Xh is military so we also have clauses in there for deployments and a few other out of the norm things. However, like I have  stated before... I am not a crazy BM. I think my kids dad is important to have in my kids lives. We do the best we can to work together and be a team.

That's a really cool option. Yeah BM wouldn't have considered that going into their order. She was doing everything she could to minimize his contact with the kids while maxamizing her control.

With DH's CO, holidays always supercede regular visitation and that normally means dad gets shafted.

Holidays override regular visitation in ours too. So. Spring break this next week. Technically psycho's weekend. She doesn't get them after 8AM on Saturday when holiday visitation starts, because holidays override regular.

So more than likely they will be with BM this weekend. I will let you guys know what happens. I am going to read the language on the actual CO when I get home from work.

Holiday's specifically mentioned in the CO override the standard visitation schedule so yes. She will get the kids for what is defined as Spring Break even if it falls on the third weekend of the month.

Yes, you guys are all correct. I went home and read the CO and it states that BM gets the skids for spring break on odd-numbered years for the same period which means that it's starts the day the skids get out of school until the day before school resumes which is Sunday so she has them this weekend. I am not complaining by any means. I just didn't want my DH waste his time by going to BM's house to find out that she isn't going to let the skids go with him since it's her spring break.
