Tone Up WEDNESDAY! lol!

I started Tone Up Tuesdays in January 2014. (I stopped briefly from June '14 to Oct '14 as there were a few comments on my blog about me obsessing over the way I looked. It kind of upset me, that wasn't the intention of TUT. I started it up to keep me motivated, and to encourage others to do the same. So I stopped. But due to popular STalk demand, I started up again!)

In all that time, I've never forgotten to post. Apart from yesterday LOL!

Not sure what happened there. DD3 isn't very well so I've been making sure she's ok, but I've still remembered to post in the past whenever we've been sick! Oh well. I'll blame it on general brain fuzz Wink

Anyway, sorry Acra I know you were waiting! (TBH, it's kinda nice to find out that someone missed my blog! All the warm fuzzies, I feel wanted! Haha!)

So.. Here is my very first 'Tone Up Wednesday!' LOL! I'm afraid I didn't go to my slimming class this week, as didn't want to drag DD out when she wasn't feeling well.

So I don't know what's happening on the scales right now. I haven't done any exercise videos this week either I'm afraid, as DD has been so unwell that all she wanted to was cuddle. Poor sweetie.

I realised something this week though. What I tend to do, if I mess up slightly, I think "I just had that high cal meal (or whatever it might be) so I should just write off the whole week, I've messed it up. No point in trying now, I'll start again next week"

Then carry on eating whatever high cal thing I want for the rest of that week, as I've already made up my mind that there's no point in trying.

I've always tried to think of it as my mom does. She always says "Just because you break a teacup, doesn't mean you have to smash the whole set"

So her thinking is, if you have one high cal snack or meal, or even several in a row, that's ok. Just get back on it asap. No need to write off the rest of the week.

That sounds quite simple in theory, (and makes complete sense) and I've even given this advice to others on TUT ..but, I'm really struggling to actually think this way for real *for myself*

If anyone had any ideas to stop me from self sabotaging the rest of my week, let me know!

I hope everyone else is doing well (hugs) x

It's the 'jump in where you are' mentality, rather than the 'all-or-nothing' mentality.

I just keep trying to remember that good enough is good enough.

Aw Moe, that's exactly it. I hope to bend my thought process that way!!! Thankyou (((hugs))) x

I hope DD feels better soon! I think of the calorie thing like a bank account. What I take out I must replace. So if I know I'm having a glass of wine, I make sure to make better choices throughout the day. If I have a danish in the morning, I have a salad for lunch/dinner.

That is a very clever way ro think about it Robin! I will keep that in mind, thankyou so much!

Ps, I hope DD feels better soon too, but I must admit I've been loving all the extra hugs I've been getting while she hasn't been feeling great, most of the time she's way too busy running round playing to have a cuddle with mom, lol! But would obviously much rather have a healthy daughter than a poorly cuddly one..

oh poor DD - hope she's better today...

hey woman I might not always reply on the blog, but you got me to do 7 days without booze lol....

Years ago a very wize person told me.... eat when you are hungry not because other people are eating, if you crave for chocolate, eat a chocolate, you have cravings cause your body needs something from it, it's no use in eating an apple when you crave a chocolate, cause your body does not want the apple, and immediately stores it to fat...

but there's a difference between having a habit of eating a tin of condensed milk every lunch time with chocolate and a mere craving, I'm shaking the habit in this 7 days.... I will go back to cravings only...

I also decided to rather eat a pinch of salt if I crave salt, before eating 2 bags of crisps
