BM and money UPDATE

So BM is crying poor in court and stating she is in finanical distress raising the baby. Well, we found out why! She paid for her new man's bankruptcy with his wife. The wife did not pay a dime. BM paid the whole fee and it is documented in the legal papers. How dumb can she be?? BM basically took $1800 out of her child's mouth to help her boyfriend and his then wife. They have only been divorced less than a month.

God I love public information!

BM was supposed to close the joint checking account within 30 days of the divorce. I had BF send a letter to the bank last week and he got a response today. The account was closed 7 months after the divorce not 30 days as ordered. BF was never taken off the account and the bank offered him copies of the statements. My question is...would it be wrong for BF to request copies of the statements? IMO it would help BF prove that BM is/was hiding money in the divorce and after wards, plus it may prove how she spends her money and how many trips she took that BF did not know about while she was pregnant.

We just found this info last night and they went to court Wednesday and may go back next Wed. My SO lawyered up and is on his way to talk to her as I write this. The grandparents think we should go for full custody since BM lives a champagne lifestyle and its all ready catching up to her. BM claims raising baby is fianacially distressing - what did she think raising a child would cost? Did she think BF would just hand over his wallet and let her take and take and take? BM told him in an email that she thought he should pay for half of all baby expenses. Fine then shouldn't BF get 1/2 the time with the child? I know the expences would go down considerably if BF had baby 1/2 time or something close to that.

UGH!!

this woman will always put whatever man she is with first before her own child's needs. If she wants to cry poor then she should give the baby up and let you all raise him. And yes she does think that since she popped out a kid she can do whatever she wants and your BF should just have his wallet open, cash at the ready and credit cards on hand for whatever SHE needs. I just went through all this and we finally put a stop to it all. You and your BF need to get all this fixed now because when it's been 16 years after the fact then you get the kid involved and the always wind up taking sides. Good luck chica.

Those who pay want to pay as little as possible and those that receive want to receive as much as possible and they both have their justifiable perspectives. Exceptions exist on both sides of the equation of course.

I agree that the boundaries need to be set and adhered to as early as possible. The sooner your SO can get BM under the control of the court and a judgement the sooner he can keep the BM in line and have some semblance of a life of his own.

Good luck and best regards,
