It's been a while since this happened and I thought I'd post an update. The worst did not happen and everything is fine. I was so worried about it but she's been great and we've been working on some new schoolwork. I took advice from here and I give her the option of one hour or two half hours. She likes this a lot. We did add practice addition/subtraction because we noticed some issues when playing board games. I chatted with her about some things that she might like to learn and she asked for multiplication and writing, so we've added those too! I've found that involving her and giving options really helps, and she's happy to sit with me and look at books she might like online etc.

The other day we did an exercise where she wrote a paragraph about what she thought camp would be like (it's her first time going) and she answered some questions about it. We then made a spelling list of the words she had trouble with and she wrote each out 10 times. She was super happy about it and was bouncing around the house ecstatic because she could now spell "because"! This would have been a huuuge feat for her even a year ago. She's been making a list since (completely on her own) of words she wants to spell. It melts my heart.

I thought I'd share because I feel like many times we don't talk about successes as much here, and it's these little moments that make the rest of it manageable (for me anyways).
