i need a cool nick name

My DD 20 just informed me that I'm going to be a grandma and we have been fight about my name. I want be called glammie and she is dead set against it. Sad

My kids had the full gamut of g'parent names - they had three sets.

One were the traditional Grandma and Grandad, then we had Poppa Roy and Nanny Helen, and Pa Ken and Nanna Rae (My about to turn 21yo dd always called Pa Ken "parking" LOL)

Tell her if she won't let you be Glammie you will insist on being addressed "Grandmamma" at all times....

Great now kids want to name their parents.

Tell your DD to get over it. You name yourself... my mother chose Nana, XMIL chose Gramma, my current MIL is Mimaw.

I like Glammy. What matters tho is that YOU like it.

A friend of mine became a grandma last month. She's only 37 and her husband is 41.

She named herself Glam-ma and her husband is Swagg-dad.

My sons call my parents mommom and pappap. and they call my husbands mom grandmother sally (not her real name) and their great grandma Gram Gram
