what happened to respect for elders?? *rant*
When I was growing up (I'm only 23 lol) if I talked back to my parents, steps, or any adult I got my teeth handed to me. Now I did endure a lot of abuse but wtf happened to respect?? Kids these days have no respect for their elders and it really irritates the hell out of me. If my kids or skids were to curse me or tell me they hate me it would take everything in my power not to backhand them immediately. There seems to be no consequences for this dispicable behavior exept time outs or for the step to disengage... wth?? These kids need a good ass whippin with a switch that they pick out. The entitled child should have EVERYTHING taken from him/her so they appreciate what they have. Why are we as parents/steps afraid to teach these kids basic decency?? This is such bull. Lord knows if my kid was to talk to us as parents or if she had a SM and disrespected her I would beat her rear until she couldn't sit down and learned some damn manners.
We are raising a generation of monsters and in many ways it is our (or BM, BF) fault. I say BRING BACK CORPORAL PUNISHMENT!!! Well, and of course the punishmment should fit the crimme. I'm not advocating child abuse but scare some respect into these kids!!!

I am with you...when my SD steps out of line...I get in her face and set her straight. She has NEVER given us the attitude of half the Skids I see on here. She wouldn't have any teeth left.
Kids DO need to be scared. If you are a parent, you can do this in a healthy way. no it doesn't mean child abuse...it means showing the child who is in charge and who is not.
Kids these days need to learn some respect. I am a teacher and I see the entitlement crap daily. Luckily, I am just sweet enough to bring them back down to Earth!

2 Skids and my two bios get it (my bios most of all). 1 Skid doesn't and this is why I refer to him as SASS13 - Stupid ass step son.
