YSS and YSD will arrive in an hour. Or Four. Update!

"Around 3 pm. Give or take a few hours" glad we narrowed it down LOL.

*They do live locally, about 15-20 minutes away. OSD is not local but in town on business.

update: it's not at all. OSD is in town and YSS and YSD all went out to dinner together instead. Yeah really nice kids, really nice.

I mean... are they driving for over 8 hrs or something? Lol probably not. Probably just inconsiderate. Just keep doing what you were planning anyway!

Ah, the we'll be here sometime today. We think it will be later today, but we can't narrow it down. So don't make any plans. Stay home. And if we arrive at meal time, have food for us.

But, don't forget there is a chance we might not arrive. If that's the case, we'll let you know when it's too late to do anything but waiting for us today.

Been there. Done that. Got the ribbon.

Suns going down soon and it's looking iffy at best they will arrive before bedtime. My heart does go out to DH I can tell he's disappointed. He's not well and I wish I had just taken him on a drive but then he wouldn't be here waiting would he? It's these holidays that I absolutely despise these adult "kids".

Doubt he is showing up....Probably doing it on purpose too so that his father waits on him and he feels important

Sometimes I really wonder if these adult Skids get together and plot how to hurt dad. I honestly wonder if my SS18 does the same. He hasn't blocked DH from his phone but he just won't respond to anything DH sends him. It's like he knows that it hurts DH more to know that SS sees what he is sending but won't respond.

They were all right there and went out together but couldn't even invite dad on father's day. That is completely intentional to hurt him. All because their mother taught them to disrespect and see their dad a worthless.

I do feel like it is/was done thoughtlessly and selfishly at best (lots of those) and purposefully and vindictively possibly. I think they are just so used to dad chasing them for crumbs, had he been well I'm certain he would have hosted them (like years past) or taken them out to eat.  Guys this man is not perfect but he was definitely there for his kids and actively parenting in ways many men weren't. I do think it's as much a reflection on them as well as conditioning from their mother, not that it excuses it. They are all well into adulthood now and should know better.

That is utterly shameful! Your poor DH! What a gut punch! I am thoroughly sickened by this deliberate ignoring of their father after he waited all day to see them.

How did you find out, BTW? Please don't tell me they called to tell him afterwards ...

When it got later and later. I do feel like it was done selfishly and thoughtlessly, it's how they always are.

What is really sad is that your DH sees all this but will probably justify it. Why these men think that their children or exs will change is beyond me.

And tells me how disappointed he is, he's so used to crumbs from them the next time they seem like they are interested in him (usually when they have a need) he is right back to doing back flips for them.
