Changing Jobs, Automatic CS Paycheck Deductions ???

So DH is going to apply for a new job in the same overall state university system but at a different location. He will most likely get and take this job. Pay is only slightly higher (like $500 a year lol) but saves him 2 hours of travel (and obviously gas) every DAY because it's now less than 5 miles from us. His CS is taken out from his paycheck automatically every two weeks and given to the state agency which then cuts BM her check (she's on state welfare because she chases her dreams of the circus life--not joking) so I think that's why it's automatic.

I reminded him that he make absolute sure that there's no lapse in the CS payments because the last thing that he (and I) wants happening is BM flying into a rage over a slightly delayed check and making a big stink about it. He said once he accepts the job, he will immediately submit the paperwork to accounting for the automatic deductions but he's not sure what to do about it because sometimes the school's payment system is delayed the first two weeks.

Does anyone know what to do in this case? Should he just cut the agency a check himself? I mean even if he overpays and they take forever in refunding him, we both agree losing $600 is honestly better than having to deal with ol' crazy over there. What has everyone else done in cases like this?

Now the question is over--rant time.

MIL is trying to stir up drama again but because I'm no contact with her (DH agreed the only times I have to see her are the big holidays--Easter, X-mas, Thanksgiving, and birthdays for him, his brother, and his brother's wife--I'll give 6 days out of the year for peace the rest of the time) and when DH went to help her with something, said when she went to visit BM, SS came in crying hysterically and asking why other kids have a father but he doesn't and BM said that it's because DH chose not to be a part of their family (aka marry her when she, as a short term friends with benefits, got pregnant "on accident" or get cut out.)

To be honest, I don't believe a word out of MIL's mouth. She manipulates, mishears, misunderstands, and plain makes things up to suit her own purposes and acts like a victim (DH once said something she was saying to my sister sounded racist--it was but my sister was very nice and said it's okay, she understands where MIL is coming from, and a few weeks later we find out she's been telling people my sister called her a racist--yeah). His therapist even said she sounds like she's has NPD. I told DH as much. I also said how egotistical does someone have to be to believe BM would STILL be hung up on DH after 7 years of no contact. It's also... too cliche. If that makes any sense. So anyway, until we hear it from a credible source, we just take it as more crazy MIL manipulation.

That's all I got. DD2 is 6 months now and adorbs. I'm finally off blood thinners for that clot I got after her birth. Just graduated with my master's in health sciences and DH will get a job closer to home so more time with the family. Things are looking good and few things can get me down right now (ask me again tomorrow though).

congrats on your graduation and DH's new job....

When DH see the new HR dept at his new job, he can immediately arrange the deduction, or at least that's how we handle it over here, thus there's no lap in paying CS

When my DH got a new job last summer, we started having the CS taken straight from our bank account. It took about a month but now he doesn't have to worry about the paperwork and stress if he changes jobs again. Maybe your DH could look into doing that now.

BM's check was 8 days later than normal because of the switch and she freaked out. Even though she was told 5 months ahead of time that he was getting a new job and CS may be affected. He just ignored her.

THIS -

here in Michigan, it is up to the payor to tell Friend of the Court that they have changed jobs and them FOC sends out a new Income Withholding Order.

I would contact your state agency and ask them what to do.

I think that as long as your DH notifies them of the change in jobs the paper work will come down the line. Thing is the HR side takes awhile to set up with a new hire.

Your new little is so stinking cute. And your soup video still cracks me up.

That's what we're worried about--that HR takes a while and crazy lady goes berzerk.

Your LO is such a ham! Cutie pie!
