OT - Taking Nicknames for My BIL!

lieutenant_dad's picture

STEP RIGHT UP! For only ONE comment, you can help me pick a nickname for my BIL (that is STalk appropriate)! But before we get into his backstory and why I need a nickname, a quick word about today's sponsor: C'Tucky.

C'Tucky is apparently doing good things with her life. Got a job, going to school, not harassing my mother. Her oldest BD turned 18 recently, so I'm waiting to see what happens with that. She posted something not too long ago about how people will set boundaries with the people who traumatized them, and it's a natural response. As you likely imagine, she has only applied that to herself and her relationships with other people and I don't think she has fully grasped that many of us do the same with her. Some of us just don't gove as many chances for redemption arcs, and she'll have to deal.

Now, onto the main show! This is petty, but I'm going to interact with BIL briefly later this week, so might as well get it out there now.

I've mentioned before that my BIL is one of those people who seemingly has very traditional views about men's and women's roles in society, right-leaning libertarian views, and a gatekeeping geek to boot. He is in his 40s and hasn't held a job in several years because he gets "bullied" everywhere he works. He posts nerd sh*t all the time, usually something disparaging about women working in nerd cultural, BIPOC being integrated into long-standing nerd worlds, or anything "liberal" happening in the nerd scene. In recent years, he has become more conservative and vocal.

Anyway, he recently posted a meme about how Congress is giving folks $600 stimulus checks for a grand total of $1800 in 9 months while legislators have made over $100,000 "doing nothing" for the rest of us. Sure, I agree that it's crap. Most of us agree it's crap. But...

WITCH, YOU SHOULDN'T BE ENTITLED TO THE MONEY ANYWAY BECAUSE YOUR WITCH-BUTT DOESN'T WORK!

Jesus H. Christmas! I want to tell him to go sit at the kids table and let the wprking adults debate about what's best for the government. I understand people getting laid off, and I truly feel for those who are unemployed. But this is a man who CHOOSES not to work or keep a job with a now adult son whom he hasn't paid CS for in YEARS (as far as I am aware, anyway), who still has to ask Dadddeeee for money for basic things, whose Mommy and Daddy pay for his housing, etc. Man-effing-child. To boot, you'd think that not working would result in his and MIL's house being spotless, but no! It's absolutely disgusting. Like, literal mud, dirt, and cat feces ground into the floor and carpet dirty!

And I have to interact with him this weekend for Christmas as we've been doing isolation in order for us to have a small dinner with FIL, MIL, BIL, and the boys. God help my tired brain from saying anything overtly rude, because I'm one smartass comment away from telling him to ship off mid-meal.

So, now that you know a little more about my BIL, any suggestions on a nickname?

I like this train of thought since he is a veteran (he last less than 4 years in the Air Force) and has a hard-on for being respected/remembered as such. I'm wondering if it should be "Captain" or "Private" Mooch, though, as I don't know which would be more demeaning.

Love the direction, but it does sound cutesy (and too close to his real name; I'd slip up LOL).

BIL-incel?

I see BOB and I think Battery Operated Boyfriend. I'd like to not mix my BIL in with any BOB thoughts. *shivers*

Call him a Socialist - he'd hate that the most. Yelling about others getting handouts while his hand is out.

Ask him if he thinks people should receive a stimulus payment proportional to how much they paid in taxes, ie - he gets nothing, and rich folks get more.

" Klinger" since he is former military and willing to do anything to get out of working, plus be an outright weirdo.
