Helping SO out I didn't realize how much is spent on weekends when his kids are here, and he hasn't been able to help with bills as he's been purchasing things his kids needed for here (clothes, shoes, coats, and a few small toys since BM now refuses to let them bring anything but the clothes on their backs)I buy the groceries and we both spend a little on our kids if we do something. I'm usually okay financially, but just okay there's never any extra. My ex hasn't payed cs in 2 weeks he was already behind about 1000$ due to erratic and late payments. So I balanced my check book and we're screwed! My DD turns 16 Christmas eve I promised a sweet 16 party and for anyone with a teen age girl you'd guess how extravagent they'd want it, but her nope she's settled to a nice location and cheap as she thought it'd be better to pay for a place that already had a DJ drinks, snacks than pay for it all seperate just to have it somewhere fancy, the limo nope she said she'd be fine if she's allowed to drive my car there as she just got her permit, fancy outfit? "It's ok mom bet we can find something great at goodwill and cheaper", her cake I'd again promised a fancy cake for a local expensive bakery she's now come and said it'd be "fun" to make one with me! I'm crying because even doing it all that way there is still no money, mortgage is now going to be behind because of my cs and there's nothing to get her and my DS anything for Christmas and she knows she heard me crying on the phone to my mom DS just came and told me that she's known we're broke that's why she keeps changing her sweet 16 to cheaper and cheaper things so I won't worry so much. I have great kids, they deserve better than this and the SO's kids aren't so bad I'd even planned to give each of them 1 gift from me and my kids now I can't, I've just gotten in over my head for a moment and needed to vent.

There will always be a Christmas. "Christmas presents" are a completely separate matter. Excellent job raising your daughter, by the way! Smile

Feeling the crunch! This is what our society has come to, and I feel ya for sure. The truck payment is now late.. its days from the 1st and of course payday doesnt come till after. BM is constantly saying she better get her money before the 1st, and FDH is flipping a lid because the truck tag is due and he doesnt have the money for that either.

I constantly wonder what Ive gotten myself into. How does BM always come first. Truthfully if she cant support SD on her own

(in reality.. they live with her BF at his deceased mothers house.. she pays no bills, and has always had stupid jobs. If shes so strapped for cash she shouldnt have bought a new car!)

thats not my problem. Ive been supporting our BS by myself and I dont see anyone footing my bills!

GAH! But your daughter sounds fabulous, what a great kid for seeing the light and trying to help not make everything so hard.
